I’m not sure if I should laugh or be offended.

“Sylas, what the fuck!” Callie hits his arm. “Don’t be rude. She looks great.”

“That’s not Nola.” Sylas points to me, shaking his head before glaring at his sister.

“Fuck off. Leave her alone.”

His eyes track over me, and I feel my body heat up under his attention. It’s a good thing this dress has padded layers over the breast area or he’d see just how turned on I was becoming.

“Fuck. Me,” he groans.

The word ‘okay’ is on the tip of my tongue.

“Okay, and now you’re being a perv,” Callie huffs. “Go away. Do your own thing.” She waves him off.

No. Stay!

“I swear, Callie, if anyone breaks anything, I’m goingto kill you,” he hisses. “I mean it. And no more parties here. Keep it to the cemetery."

“It’s only a few people. Relax.”

“I don’t want people snooping around.” He shoots back at her with a no-nonsense tone to his words.

“No one is allowed to go upstairs other than us and Lola. I’ll make sure of it.”

“Fine,” He huffs. “Be good.”

Turning around, he storms off.

Come back!

“Sorry about him. I swear the man only thinks with his dick.”

“I don’t mind,” I tell her.I really, really don't.

I was nervous before about what I was wearing, but now I want to see Jasper’s and Wesley’s reactions.

Callie pulls me into the main part of the house, where everyone is. They’re all drinking and dancing. When I see that everyone is dressed similarly to us, I relax a little bit. I can blend in a lot easier this way.

“Want a drink?” Callie asks, going to the fridge.

“Just a soda,” I answer. I plan on having a busy night. I don’t want to be intoxicated and leave behind evidence.

She hands me a Coke and grabs a wine cooler for herself.

“So, what do we do now?” I ask, opening the can and taking a sip.

We lean against the counter, observing the people around us.

“I don’t know,” she says. “I’ve never been to a party.” She looks at me, and we both burst out laughing.

“What are we even doing?” Callie groans.

“I believe you wanted to get the chance to talk to a hot guy?” I remind her. “Where is he?”

“I don’t see him,” Callie says, leaning up on her tiptoes, looking out over the crowd of people. “Wanna dance while we wait?"

“Sure.” I shrug. “I gotta warn you, I can’t dance.”
