“Huh,” Callie says with a laugh. “Looks like they’re not handling that new drug very well because I think they all just passed out.”
“Really?” I ask. “Maybe they’re just waiting for the girl to come back?”
“Babe, look at them,” Callie snickers.
“Let’s just wait.”
We watch for a few moments longer, and the girl walks back into the room.
She stands in front of the guys, and I watch as her mouth moves. She waits, but the guys don’t do or say anything.
She goes up to Wesley and nudges his shoulder. He doesn’t move. Then she does the same to Sylas and Jasper.
“Shit. Do you think they’re dead?” Callie asks, voice filling with panic.
“No. They’re fine,” I tell her, but my own panic starts to rise. “I’m sure they’re just passed out.” I look up towards the door, warring with myself on what I should do.
“We should go check, just in case.”
“What if they wake up and see us there?” I ask.
“We’ll just say I needed Sylas, we came looking for them and found them like that. And you were with me.”
Chewing on my lip, I debate on it. “Okay.” I nod.
“What about the girl?” Callie asks. “Do we just let her go?”
“No,” I snort. “Fuck, no. She might not have been touched by them, but she came here with that very intention. She still dies.”
“Sounds good to me.” She grins. “You got the stuff.”
I nod, holding up my purse. It’s got gloves, alcohol wipes, a tourniquet, blood tubes, a tube holder, and the needles. Placing it on my lap, I pull out a bottle and a rag.
“What’s this?” Callie asks as I hand her the items.
“Chloroform.” I close my purse. “I need you to knock her out. I don’t want to kill her here because of the blood. We’ll bring her to the park a few streets over and do it there.”
“Smart.” She nods, then grins wide. “I’m so excited!”
“I thought you’d like to be more involved,” I chuckle.
“I do. And you’re delivering. I appreciate that our friendship means so much to you.” She gives me big puppy dog eyes and sniffs. “I love you so much.”
“I love you, too.” I laugh, shaking my head. “Now, let’s go get this done before they wake up. If I can avoid them fucking this chick, that would be nice.”
“Right. Let’s go.”
We walk over to the door, and Callie waves a room key over the door. “Shit. I didn’t even think about how we would have gotten into the room.”
“I got you, babe.” She winks before pushing the door open.
“Who are you?” the girl asks as we walk in. She wraps an arm around her breasts, and the other one covers her mound.
“I’m their girlfriend,” I tell her, giving her a strained smile.
“What?” Her eyes widen. “They didn’t tell me they had a girlfriend.”
“Don’t blame them.” I wave her off, then bend down to pick up her clothes. “They’re not aware of it.”
