“I’ll talk to Low. I’ll apologize for Kaylene.”
Woods nods, and Dirty ignores me.
I do my walk of shame and walk outside to see if she’s even still here.
Her truck is still parked in the lot. I lean against the cab and wait.
Eventually she comes from the side of the house with fucking Foolish. Of course, he was ready to swoop in and play her hero.
“Can we talk?” I scowl at Foolish, hoping he takes the hint and leaves.
“Foolish, tell your VP I’ve got nothing to say to him.”
“Don’t be a brat.” I grab her by the wrist, pressing hard enough to leave a mark.
“Don’t touch me. Never ever will you touch me.” She jerks away, and I let her go. “I would wish you the best, but honestly, I hope the two of you are miserable.”
She twists on her heel and goes straight to Foolish. Her arms go around his neck, and she presses her mouth to his.
He’s made no secret he has a thing for her. I just never thought I’d be the one pushing her into his arms. I guess part of me thought she’d never want any other biker.
I can’t bear the sight. My heart is in a blender. My chest squeezes so damn tight, mimicking a heart attack. Nothing but ared haze clouds my vision, and before I know it, I’m jerking her backward by the shoulder and throwing punches.
I let it rip.
All my anger at my old man, Kaylene, life, my fucking self, I pour it all into beating the living daylights out of the prospect.
“Gray, stop.” Willow shrieks from behind me, catching an elbow to her forehead. “Ah!” she cries, and I shake my head. I look back to see her on the ground.
“What the fuck, man?” Foolish spits blood on the ground and crawls over to her. “Are you okay? Jesus. You could have killed her.”
Willow hunches over and throws up.
“Don’t just stand there. Get help!” he screams at me, but I can’t move. All I can do is stare at the woman I love and know I’m the one who broke her. I betrayed her. Crushed her spirit and now I’ve given her a concussion.
Chapter Fifteen
“Can you follow my finger?” Elsie Jo checks me out in my brother’s office. “You’ve got one hell of a goose egg. I still think you should go get checked out.”
“I’m fine. It just hurts. I’ve taken worse tumbles off the porch when I drink wine with my grandma,” I joke, but no one is laughing.
I don’t know where Gray went.
All I know is that Dirty was ready to go back to prison when Foolish told him what happened. Woods is trying to calm him down. My brothers may be assholes, but they are protective of me.
The Gray I was with yesterday and the Gray who broke my heart today aren’t the same man. I don’t know what happened between this morning and tonight. I don’t think I care to. Maybe he was right. Maybe he is crazy, like Bill.
The whole Kaylene being here and saying she’s having his baby takes the fucking cake. Was he still fucking her this whole time? I think I’m in shock. How can he tell me he won’t fuck meuntil he’s worthy of me, then do it and the next fucking day treat me like dirt and tell me he’s having a baby with someone else?
I really need someone to explain it to me. My brain can’t seem to wrap around it.
“I’m going to get some more ice. Keep an eye on her.” Elsie Jo leaves me with Madz. I know she thinks it’s weird I am kind of friends with her, but we’ve bonded in a strange way.
“What the hell happened?”
“I don’t know. I thought…” I glance around to see who is around, but we’re alone. My brother wanted to get Jessika for me, but I thought seeing me and the fight might be triggering for her. It’s best to leave her out of it and not even tell her. She’s got enough going on. “We had sex last night and then today Kaylene says she’s with him and pregnant.”
“Was last night the first time?”
