Her finger traces a feather tattoo. “Then stay.”
God, it’s tempting. I’d rather be in bed with Daisy than at the club. “The guys will hang me by my balls if I miss another meeting that we’ve set up.”
She giggles. “I don’t remember hearing you complain.”
No, never would I complain about being buried deep in the most beautiful woman I’ve ever been with. “As much as I’d like to stay here with you, I can’t miss another night.”
“Fine. Do you want me to go home?” I hear the vulnerability in her voice, but the expression on her face is casual, like my answer won’t mean much.
“No. You’re not to leave this bed,” I order.
“What if I have to pee?”
“Only for that.”
“What if I get hungry?” she grins.
“Your phone is on the nightstand. Call someone to deliver it.”
“But I’ll have to get out of bed to let them in.”
I blow out a breath. “Okay. You can get out of bed to pee, and eat, but for no other reason. When I get home, I want you naked.”
“I’m already naked.”
“You better stay that way.”
“Are all men your age this bossy?”
“My age?”
“Yes, old.”
“You’re calling me old?”
“Evan told me you’re thirty-six. That’s ten years older than me. So, yes. You’re old.” Her lips twitch as she holds back a smile. I know she’s teasing, but she has a point.
“Would an old man be able to do the things I’ve done to you?” I take a bite at her shoulder.
“I’m not sure. I’ve never been with anyone as old as you.” This time, she can’t hold back her teasing grin.
I nuzzle her neck. “When I get home, I’ll show you how far from old I am.”
She giggles as the stubble on my face tickles the sensitive skin on her neck. “When will you be back?”
“As soon as possible. We’re setting up a new security system. I’m meeting with the installers to make sure everything’s in order.”
“Is that what you do? Manage security at your clubs?”
“Mostly. I have input in all aspects of the club, just like Linc and Ash do. We tend to focus on certain areas more.”
“Is running this kind of business something you’d always dreamed of doing?”
I raise one arm and rest the back of my head in my palm. “No. I’d never dreamed of doing anything like this. Never dreamed of becoming a doctor or lawyer. Those kinds of professions seemed too far-fetched for a foster kid like me. My only dream was to get the fuck out of the foster system. This all kinda fell into our laps.”
“Do you enjoy it?” she asks.
Do I enjoy it? It’s what makes me feel alive. Building up our business is the biggest buzz I’ve ever known. Not once have I gotten out of bed and dreaded going to work. Except for now.Going into work means leaving Daisy. “I do. I can’t think of anything else I’d rather be doing.”
