“You’re playing with your heart, Judas. Stop sticking your dick where it doesn’t belong and get away while you still can.”

I considered the demon’s words, but then I grimaced. “Nah. Randall is too delicious to pass up an opportunity to torment him. He gets this cute crease in his forehead that reminds me of the one on his right butt cheek. I’m gonna call them the Judas Creases. That sounds like a bad band name.”

Rocking out to the perfected song I made in two seconds, I skipped around the trees and looked for signs of where my broody doody had run off to hide.

Boot prints. Deep, squishy, and wet from the rain. Big, burly prints that matched my darling, Randall.

The stubborn little cop thought he could leave no trace? Cute. Hmm. Or maybe he wanted me to find him.

Contrary to everyone’s thoughts, I wasn’t stupid. I was highly intelligent, and I knew when the games weren’t pretend. I crouched, letting the thick mud suck on my vans.

Speaking of suck. You think Eeyore will let you suck his face again?

I grinned wider. “Fuck me, I sure hope so, Roxy. He tastes like rage, with a hint of that soap you can easily steal at the police station bathroom, but don’t eat it.”

Branches bent under the storm, and I paused, scanning the ground to follow his massive ogre-sized shoe prints. Lightning lit the sky again, and I used it to continue my hunt.

“This is too easy,” I whined to my friends around me as they skipped in a circle and broke apart when I walked through them. A broken twig was almost hidden in mud, but it led away from the boot prints.

“Hmmm?” A smear of rainwater carried a hint of him: all sweat, soap, and the raw metallic bite of his anger.

Yummy.

I ducked under a low branch, peering around. Mud clung to every inch of me, soaked through my clothes, making me freeze my ass off.

But it felt perfect.

My fingers brushed the ground: more tracks, deeper prints, and a slight drag mark from the baton he always carried.

“Liebling, you naughty thing, you definitely want me to find you. Fine. Ready or not, here I come!”

I crouched lower, probably looking like a dog as my eyes scanned the ground. A branch snapped to my left, and I froze, listening. Rain pounded in my ears, and I needed to vacate so I could fucking hear.

“Randy Pandy?”

A flicker of movement was shown, and a shadow skittered behind a tree. I grinned, tilting my head, watching it pause, chest heaving, bulging, delicious muscles flexing in the storm. My mind raced, twisting through possibilities of how to get him back underneath me.

“Ohhh, Liebling…” I whispered low, my voice dripping with dark amusement. “You leave breadcrumbs for me, knowing I can’t resist a good trail, but if you really wanted my attention, a clothing trail would be more sufficient…Just saying.”

The mud around his boot marks was smeared, wet streaks tracing every misstep, with each attempt to vanish away from me again. A puddle reflected his shape for a split second, and a crooked grin twisted my lips. I could almost taste the chaos already.

Another flash of lightning, and I saw him clearly. Finally, I was missing his pretty face. A tree shielded his bulk, and this time his gun was clutched in his meaty hands. His eyes narrowed when he got closer to me, and I smiled wider.

Perfect.

I held up my hands and stepped forward in the mud.

“Oh, fooey, you found your fun bag? Damn, guess you never wanted to play, did you?”

“You’re going back, Judas. This game is over.”

I crouched down. “Actually, this game of ours just started, Liebling.”

His chest puffed out, and he fussed with his gorgeous hair. The mud streaked across his face like he was hiding just enough, thinking he’d escaped.

Grinning widely, I lunged.

Mud and rain exploded around us, fists and elbows snapping, rolling, shoving, grappling. Thunder cracked overhead, illuminating our wet, furious forms, but I kept going. Randy was going to learn to behave. I ducked a punch, and shoved him into a slick tree, and tasted chaos, thrill, and that delicious little obsession that made him…mine.
