I smile and feel relieved, but he’s been pretty understanding so far so I can’t say I’m surprised. Part of me did worry he would be upset, but I think that’s just my own insecurities.
“We can still have some fun in the meantime,” I tell him with a smile.
His eyes instantly turn heated.
“Let’s have some fun then,” he rasps.
He grabs my hand as we walk into our bedroom and sit down on the bed. I immediately climb onto his lap.
I kiss him softly at first, but I quickly feel addicted to the taste of him and slide my tongue into his mouth. He kisses me back with the same intensity.
Being with him doesn’t make me freeze or panic anymore, which is a good thing. I find myself seeking his touch and wanting him more and more.
I’m starting to feel safe for the first time. I can hug the other sins and Lucifer but, if anyone else tries to get near me, I freeze up.
Being with Silas has felt right. I find myself craving him and wanting to feel his skin on mine.
We haven’t had sex, but we have had showers, baths, and given each other massages. We have seen each other’s bodies naked almost every day.
The acts are intimate in a way that I can’t quite explain. Sharing your body with someone, even if it’s not about sex, is still a big thing.
We have used our hands and mouths on each other. I find myself addicted to kissing him, and we end up making out and grinding against each other pretty much every night.
I know for a fact I have fallen hard for him. It’s scary for sure, but it is also the best feeling I have ever experienced.
This is something I won’t let go and will protect at all costs.
Chapter Fourteen
Silas
I’m with Lorenzo trying to locate Furcas. We still haven’t figured out how his frame is black, but I have no doubt that is who attacked my bride. I saw the fear in her eyes, and you can’t fake that kind of terror.
“Don’t worry, brother. We will find him and get the answers we need,” Lorenzo tells me.
“I know, but I’m not only worried about my bride; I’m also worried about everyone else’s. Seems kind of silly we can’t just bring them all in at once,” I mutter.
“I think it probably has something to do with the magic, and the soul ties that Lilith had used. From what dad told us, our souls are waiting for the right time to finally connect. I’m not sure if I understand it all myself, but I’m also not in any rush to be tied down,” he tells me.
“Why don’t you want to find your bride?” I ask curiously.
He shrugs but seems to think for a moment.
“Being Wrath, I think having a bride would be a bad idea. I feel anger pretty much all the time. I wouldn’t want my bride to have to live that kind of life. What if I end up being angry at her all the time?”
“Being your bride, I think it would be something she could handle, or it could be something you won’t feel around her,” I tell him.
“How would I not feel angry around her? It’s engrained in me,” he asks, looking confused.
“With Serenity I don’t feel a constant lust. I had always gone out and projected my power to have some being to fuck for a few days. Serenity needed things to move slowly because of what Furcas did to her. I find myself being surprisingly patient with her, and I know I would never rush or push her into anything she didn’t want fully. Sex had been my life, but I now see that life is much more than sex, and that I am more than just my sin,” I say.
He seems to take in everything I say before he responds.
“Maybe you are right, but I can’t imagine what kind of woman would put up with me,” he states.
“She will be exactly what you need,” I tell him.
He looks like he doesn’t believe me, but he will have to see for himself when his bride comes along.
