Completely dumbfounded by that, he just sat there and stared.

“What you fail to realize about my other partnerships is their longevity. The longer we’re in business together, the cheaper the prices get. It’s like a rewards program with the Marriott. Now, you’re brand-new on the scene, and you’re coming to me demanding I give you the same prices as long-term partners. So let me save us both some time by telling you that’s never going to happen. Show your loyalty with continued business and deposits paid on time, and you will earn these benefits. Do we understand each other?”

Fausto should have understood he couldn’t outmaneuver her, but he continued to try. “I still think you need to consider the volume of business I provide. It’s bigger than all of your partners combined?—”

“Which makes more work for us,” she snapped. “I’ve only agreed to consider a partnership this big because George vouched for you. We would have to change our agreement with our production team in America to accommodate you. What you fail to understand is that I’m the one doingyoua favor. I already have more business than I can handle at the moment, and we’re making an exception for you as it is. So you should just be grateful you even have a seat at this table.”

I had to focus on something else besides how hot she was. Otherwise, my dick was going to make a big-ass tent in my trousers. And I wasn’t a teenage boy, so it would bereallynoticeable.

“So, deal or no deal?” she asked. “What’s it going to be, Fausto?”

He stared at her for a moment as he processed his frustration in silence by slightly changing his position in his chair. He probably tried to think of another way around her to get what he wanted, but she’d blocked him at every turn, so there was no way to proceed other than through her. He finally gave a nod. “Deal.”

And this boss bitch was going to be my wife.

WOLFE

I walked into the office and found Francesca seated behind the desk with her laptop open and paperwork scattered around her. Ever since we returned to business as usual, she’d been busy playing catch-up.

When I approached the desk, she stopped her task to look at me.

“The last drop of the week is done.”

“Good,” she said. “What about the wine? Leo fuck up?”

“No, he’s been on top of it, as a matter of fact.”

“That’s a surprise.” She wore her ring every day, and the diamonds were brilliant in any kind of light. The summer sunshine came through the window behind her, and the diamonds danced with colorful brilliance.

“He’s prepping the first delivery now. Something at the winery busted, but he fixed it.”

“Hefixed it or hired someone to fix it?”

“He did, actually.”

If she was impressed, she refused to show it.

“I’m gonna head down and help.”

“Did you need something from me?”

I stared her down then gestured upward with my hand, silently telling her to stand up. “I haven’t kissed you since this morning.”

That affectionate smile moved over her lips. “Has it been that long?”

“Feels like an eternity.”

She rose to her feet and came around the desk, her arms immediately rising to circle my neck. Her shoulder holster held her pistol, and her jeans were skintight. Instead of her colorful dresses and platform sandals, she now wore lots of black and t-shirts, but she had such a nice body that she looked absolutely fuckable in the formfitting clothing.

I circled her lower back with one arm, and my other hand went to her ass as I kissed her.

She smiled against my mouth when she kissed me. “The exact pick-me-up I needed.”

“The kiss or the ass-grab?” I teased.

“Both,” she said as she pulled away.
