She narrowed her eyes.“Really?”
“Yeah. But I don’t want to talk about anything that was before.”
I stepped closer, ready to take her up in my arms again.I wanted to feel her bare pussy against my torso. If she was ready, I could bury myself inside her again.I was insatiable. But a knock at the door interrupted us.
“I’m here with your food,” a voice called from the other side.
Amy scurried around.“Oh, here’s a robe.”
I hadn’t even noticed them hanging next to the shower. She put one on and gave me the other one.
“You go sit down on the bed.I’ll get the food and serve you everything,” I told her.
“Huh?”
“Yeah.You shouldn’t strain yourself.”
She scoffed.“Oh,nowyou remember that? After you’ve had your way with me in the shower and on the vanity? You didn’t seem too worried about my well-being then.”
I took her hand.“Amy, did I hurt you?Do you want to call Dr.Stevens?”
She rolled her eyes.“No.Relax, Knox.I was just teasing you.I feel perfectly fine. But if you want to bring me dinner in bed, I’m definitely up for it.”
Once Amy was situated, I opened the door.
The woman from the front desk smiled.“I hope I’m not disturbing you two.I just put a quick dinner together.Soup and a charcuterie board.Didn’t have ham, so it’s just cheese, bread and veggies.”
I cocked a brow but didn’t say anything besides, “That’s perfect.Thank you.It smells great.”
“Let me know if you need anything else.”
“Will do,” I replied, determined not to.I wanted time alone with Amy.That was all.I didn’t want any intruders.
She was waiting for me in the center of the bed, grinning as I approached with the tray.
“We’ve got plenty of goodies,” she said.
“Yeah, we do.”
“This is actually so much better than what we would have had at camp.”
I cocked a brow.“How can it possibly be better?”
“We basically had lots of marshmallows and stuff we could hold over a bonfire, like hot dogs, but we didn’t bring much real food like veggies, anything like that.”
“Why not?”
“There’s not a big enough space in any of the cabins to cook for a big group.Plus, it’s mostly teenagers.Getting them to eat anything besides junk food is a chore best left to their parents.”
I laughed as I ate my bowl of soup.“All right, this isn’t bad.”
“What a cozy meal!”
I wanted to do this with her more often: have a relaxing evening where we didn’t have any grand plans and just enjoyed the hell out of whatever we were doing, eating dinner or watching a movie or...What the hell was it that couples did?I had no idea. And I’d never had any intention of finding out—but now I wanted to.
“I want to spend every evening with you like this.”
Amy looked up from her half-eaten bowl of oatmeal.“Stranded in a B&B, eating soup?”
