“Mhm. It’s cute, but I think you need more sexiness. You can’t look at him as your boss; you have to have the mindset thatthis is a real date. Pretend it was someone you didn’t know. How would you dress then?”

I thought about it, and she had a point. I think I was trying to be more modest because of who it was, but there was no reason why I couldn’t put on something that I would have worn on a date with a stranger.

“Okay. One second.”

I moved from the camera, took off the dress, and put on another one that I had picked out. Once I had it situated, I stepped back into the camera.

“That’s the one. That man is going to drool when he sees you.”

Since I wasn’t sure where he was taking me, I settled on a black dress with a deep V cut in the front that amplified my breasts and stopped mid-thigh.

“You think so?” I looked at myself in the mirror, and I had to say that I did look good.

“Yes! You should wear that long silver necklace you have with some strappy heels and a small bag. Cute, sexy, and simple. Put your hair up, but let a few strands hang down. Those small diamond studs you got for your birthday last year will top it off.”

“Hold up, let me get all of that.”

While I gathered my accessories, Chanel talked to me about things going on in her life. She informed me of some people that had asked about me. She would tell them I was okay but would never disclose where I was if I didn’t want her to.

Once I had everything on, I stepped back into the camera.

“Yes, bestie! You look good.” She squealed. “I’m so excited for you. Hopefully this is your chance at something real.”

“Maybe.”

We talked a little while longer while I applied my makeup and switched out my bag. Cashmere was already settled for the night, so I didn’t have to worry about him.

A few minutes after Chanel and I hung up, my doorbell rang.

I took my phone off the charger, put it in my bag, then headed downstairs. Cashmere tried to come with me, but I told him not to. I didn’t want to get dog fur on me or Kairo.

Kairo’s eyes lit up as soon as I opened the door.

“You look beautiful.” His eyes perused my body, and he licked his lips.

“Thank you. You look nice.”

Kairo wore white linen pants with a black shirt and black shoes. The first two buttons of his shirt were open, and a gold chain rested against his chest. Since his shirt was short sleeved, most of his tattoos were on display. Instead of his normal frames, he had on gold ones, and damn did he look good in them.

“Thanks. You ready?”

“I am.”

I locked up my house and took Kairo’s hand that he held out for me.

He led me to a green Mustang, then helped me in. The car smelled fresh like he always did.

“You ever rode in one of these before?” Kairo asked after he entered the car and buckled his seatbelt.

“I have not.”

He smiled at me, then turned the car on. It roared to life and vibrated underneath me.

“It’s loud, but I can control it if it’s too much for you.”

“No, it’s good.”

I actually enjoyed the aggressive roar of the engine, but I did like that he could turn it down if he wanted to. Driving around in a loud car would eventually get aggravating to me.
