Last night had beennice spending time with the girls before heading home to Dom and beating the storm before the roads got too bad.It had been a shock to find out from him that Ashley was going to be staying with Keith for a bit, mainly because I thought we were close enough for her to share news like that with me herself.
I knew that I had been hard on Keith from the moment I realized he was attracted to Ashley, but that didn’t stop the sting I felt that he hadn’t bothered to fill me in, either. It was like they had formed some secret alliance and were sneaking behind my back to be together, even if not romantically.Hell, who knew if maybe they were together romantically. It was obvious I was being kept out of the loop on purpose.
I finished cleaning up breakfast while Dom hopped in the shower, giving me some space to clear my head.Last night had been nice, cuddling him without the pressure of doing anything else.It was nice to feel safe in his arms, knowing that he wasn’t demanding anything of me.With Dom, I was allowed to be myself, which was refreshing because I couldn’t remember the last time I felt that way with anyone I was dating. Not that we were dating, but I wasn’t in the right headspace to try to label whatever this thing was between us.As far as I was concerned, we were fuck buddies, and he vowed to protect me from Tray; that was enough for me.
The snow fell heavily outside, creating a blanket of white across the ground.I grabbed my phone from the counter to take a picture and frowned when I saw a new text message. My blood ran cold when I saw Tray’s name on the screen.
My fingers trembled as I struggled to unlock the phone so I could read it.
Then I realized why I couldn’t unlock the phone, despite entering my code several times.
It wasn’t my phone.
It was Dom’s.

Ifinished my showerand put on clean clothes, leaning toward comfy with my joggers and a T-shirt since I knew we weren’t leaving the house for a few days.I had purposely bought some of Jo’s favorite foods so I could cook for her while we were stuck together, however I wouldn’t really call itstuck. In my mind, it was more like fate giving us some uninterrupted time together to strengthen our bond and explore things.
I hung my towel on the hook in the bathroom and headed into the living room. Before I could process what was happening, I ducked, barely avoiding the tennis shoe Jo chucked at my head.I looked up at her, noticing the furious look on her face as she stared at me.
“How the fuck could you do this to me?”she screamed, throwing the other shoe.
