“You showed your ass last night, love,” I let her know.

When I said that, her hand that wasn’t still holding mine, she lifted it, so that she could place the palm of it on her forehead. She did it as if she was ashamed.

“Really? What all did I do?” she wanted to know.

“What’s the last thing you remember?” I asked, just to see.

She laughed at that question, and I could see it in her eyes that she was literally trying to remember the last thing that she did from last night.

“I think karaoke. I really don’t remember anything else after that. What all did I do? Is it embarrassing?” she wanted to know. I laughed at that, while letting go of her hand. I hopped on the counter, so that I could look down at her.

“Nah. It wasn’t embarrassing. Your true feelings for me came out last night. We were in the bar kissing. You were whispering in my ear for me to fuck you. I had to carry you in my arms all the way back to the truck. We got on the truck, and you started crying because I wouldn’t fuck you. Then, you started cryingagain, telling me not to fuck the women back home in Miami. I put you in bed, and you took your ass to sleep,” I let her know.

With each thing that I would say to her, her face would scrunch, as if she hated to hear herself in that kind of light. She stood there, picking her hand up, so that she could scratch at her head.

“Wow. You said that it wasn’t embarrassing. Gemini, that is embarrassing,” she whined, picking up her hands to cover her face. No lie, that whining shit was sexy as hell. It was such a girly thing to do, and women who were well into their femininity was such a turn on to me.

I reached my hand out, so that I could pry Amina’s hands away from her face. I pulled her to me, making her stand directly in the middle of my legs. Now that I had both hands removed from her face, she put them on my firm thighs, while looking up at me. We didn’t say anything. We just stared at each other.

“I didn’t fuck you. Just want you to know that,” I let her know.

“I know you didn’t. I know the kind of good character that you have,” she said.

“Oh damn. You giving me credit now? I got good character?” I asked with a smile on my face, that made her laugh.

“I never said that you didn’t have good character. I just used to think that you were an asshole,” she went on to say.

“Yeah aight. I’m not even that. Haven’t I been taking good care of you since you’ve been on this truck with me? You safe, right? I drive careful, and everything. I make sure you eat a few meals throughout the day. I let you get drunk, and I didn’t take advantage. I’m a good man, Amina. It just took us a little while to understand each other,” I finalized. She nodded to that.

As if we were a couple, and we usually ended our conversation in kisses, she reached her arms up, wrapped them around my neck, and she kissed me. The kiss wasn’t as steamyas the other ones, but it was still good. She put kisses on my lips in ripples. Just back-to-back pecking me on the lips, without slipping me her tongue. When we finished, I tapped her on the ass, and that was basically my way of telling her to step back, so that I could get down.

She stepped out of the way, and tended to her area, so she could grab her shower bag. I did the same. We were off the truck in less than five minutes. We walked into the building together, where I reserved two showers for us. We were able to get two showers that were next door to each other. I gave Amina the rules like I always did, telling her not to leave the area if she happened to come out before me, even though I knew she wouldn’t.

I was happy to stand under the shower head and allow the hot water to hit every part of my body. Being on the road, having the kind of workday that I had today, I didn’t start washing myself right away. My body was aching a little bit, so I just wanted to enjoy what the water was doing to my body. I eventually started using my washcloth that I lathered with soap to clean my body. I did a good cleaning, wiping myself down for about twenty minutes.

Once I finished, I shut the water off, wrapped the towel around my waist, and headed over to the bathroom counter. I handled my business at the sink. Washing my face and brushing my teeth. When I finished with that, I applied lotion to my body, slipped on a pair of briefs, joggers and a wife beater.

I put socks on, slipped into some slides, and I cleaned up the area. I had everything that I needed, so I left, holding onto my shower bag. I went over to the sitting area, where I was going to just chill out until Amina made her way out of the bathroom.

While I was sitting here, I decided to put a phone call in to my sister. I haven’t heard her voice in a couple of days. We’ve only communicated through text. Plus, I wanted to see her face. I putthe call in, sitting here, waiting for the call to connect. Gianna didn’t answer until the 6thring, and when she did, you could tell that she was working.

Judging from everything that was around her, I could tell that she was at her spot. Gianna owned a commercial kitchen. In that kitchen, she had everything fully equipped with professional kitchen supplies. That way, she could have multiple industrial ovens, a bunch of freezers, and refrigerators, shelves that were stocked with spices, and other ingredients. She was able to have an entire team there, working with her, so she wouldn’t have to do these big ass jobs on her own.

“Hi brother,” she said to me with a smile on her face.

She was in her chef uniform. Her chef hat was on and everything. You could really tell that she was in that mode because there was smears of flour on her black chef coat, small specs of what looked to either be paprika or cayenne pepper, with a kitchen towel that she had thrown over her shoulder.

“What’s up sis? I see you busy. What you getting ready for?” I asked her.

“You know it’s voting season. I have a city council campaign reception that’s taking place in two hours. They ordered so much damn food. You would think that the plan is to feed the entire Dade- County. We’ve been at it since like five this morning. How’s it going today? I didn’t get to check in with you and Amina like I usually do because we’ve been so busy. Where are you?” she asked, firing off question after question.

We didn’t even get to stay on the fact that she was catering an event for a city council campaign reception before she changed the subject. That’s how my sister was though. Very humble, just like I was. That was big news, but she skipped through it like it was nothing. Nah. I had to congratulate her on that.

“I hate when you do shit like that. This catering gig is a big deal, and you just sped by it like it was no big deal. Nah. We gottasit in that for a little bit. You work hard, sis. I remember a time when the things that you’re doing right now were just dreams for you. Look how everything is unfolding. I’m proud of you girl,” I told her, and she smiled big when I said it, loving when those kind of words came from me.

“Thank you, brother. I needed to hear that,” she said, and I nodded.

“But yeah, I’m finished with work for the day. We’re at the truck stop right now. I just finished showering and I’m waiting for Amina to come out, so we can go across the street to the laundromat,” I let her know.
