Gemini and I were standing side by side with the mics in our hands. I was just as goofy as ever, ready to sing, knowing damn well that I’ve never in my life been able to hold a tune. Gemini had this look in his eyes, as if he couldn’t believe that I’d managed to get him on this stage with me.

The beat instantly dropped and I brought the mic to my lips, hitting that first line that Lil Mo’ said. The crowd started going crazy. I really don’t know if they went crazy because they knew this old school classic or if it was mainly because two black people were on stage and we were getting ready to turn this spot out.

Since Lil Mo’ had the first part, and it took up at least the first 30 seconds, the floor was mine. Gemini stood there, facing me, with the mic tucked into his arms since he had his arms crossed. He was bobbing his head to the music, fully in tune to what was going on. You know how when Beyoncé performs on stage with Jay- Z, and he’ll stand there in admiration, allowing his wife to do her thing while he just watches? That’s what this moment felt like. The look that he was giving me was like motivation. You would have really thought that we were going to get paid for this performance.

I had weed and liquor in my system. I was up on this stage, singing my pour little heart out. Gemini had the mic in his hands, and without having to look at the lyrics on the screen, he started rapping Ja Rule’s part word for word. That turned me on so bad. So much so that when it was my turn to sing again, I went over to him, singing to him, while he rapped to me. You know the way we had been posted up against the wall earlier, whenwe were waiting for a table? We somehow transitioned back into that position. The song was almost to the end, and I was still singing, and he was still rapping behind me.

I gave us a little space, only so that I could bend down, and I started shaking my ass all over him. The shots fully kicked in now. Gemini caught it, holding onto my hips, as he thrusted into me, as if he was fuckin me. We had the crowd going crazy. When the song ended, we received a standing ovation and everything. We both took our bows, and then headed back over to the DJ stand, so that we could hand him back the mic. We even had the DJ hype. He was telling us not to leave yet because he would want us to do another song.

“Man, hell nah. Ya’ll would have to pay me,” Gemini told the DJ, who laughed, and then stuck his hand out, so that Gemini could pound him.

As we walked back to our table, folks were still cheering us on. Gemini took his seat, but I didn’t. Remember, there was alcohol in my system, so I was feeling bold. Bold to the point that I stood in front of him while he was sitting in his chair. My ass was posted against the high-top table. Gemini had this seductive look in his eyes. Eyes on me, as he lay back in the chair, watching me, trying to see what I was getting ready to do. His legs were open, so it was easy for me to stand in the middle of them.

I picked my arms up, wrapping them around his neck. His hands found my ass. He placed them there, squeezing it, and it was me that went in for the kiss. I didn’t give a damn about anyone or anything around me.

I took it there with that kiss. I was so gone off these drinks, and I knew that we wouldn’t be in Alabama forever and that these people would probably never see us again, so it was one of those things where I would fuck right here if I got hot enough for it.

Gemini was squeezing my ass so tightly as we kissed. I was moaning into his lips, lifting my right hand up, so that I could play in his hair. This went on for about thirty seconds. I eventually broke the kiss, but my lips found his neck. I kissed and sucked him there. My lips moved up to his ears, where I kissed it, and prepared myself to say something to him.

“Gemini, fuck me in the truck, please,” I was out of my own body right now. Too gone.

This is why I didn’t like to touch Don Julio. Don did me dirty every time. I showed my ass on Don Julio every time, and that’s why I tried to leave it alone. I don’t know why I thought that things were going to change for me today. Don had the same effect on me tonight as it did any other time.

“Nah. You drunk,” Gemini said, crushing my little dreams.

His words hurt my feelings. I’d already told him that when I drink, I get emotional. That’s what was gearing up to happen right now.

“But I’m in my right mind. I want you to. I want to feel you,” I honestly said, looking him in his eyes. He still had his eyes on me, and his hands were still glued to my ass.

“You not in your right mind. You got weed, and liquor in your system. You fucked up, baby. I’m not the kind of nigga to take advantage of you in this kind of state. If you were my girl, hell yeah I would take you back to the truck and wear that pussy out for you. We would be at a point where I know that that’s something you genuinely wanted. You intoxicated, and I don’t know if this what you want for real. The drinks can just have you saying shit,” he said.

A tear fell from my eyes. I felt like he was denying me. Instead of Gemini wiping the tear away with his hand, he leaned up and kissed it away.

“The drinks don’t have me saying this. This is how I feel,” I whined.

“I’m not taking that chance. Come on. Let me get you back to the truck,” he said it in a way like his answer was final.

Gemini took his hands off my ass, so that he could get his wallet out of his pocket. I watched him as he pulled out bills, putting enough on the table that would cover the tab, along with leaving a hefty tip for the waitress. When we walked out, he was ahead of me, but he had his hand reached back, so that I could grab it, and follow behind him. I was trying to keep a straight face, and walk normal, but it was hard. I was drunk. It felt like I was walking on noodles for legs. My head even felt like it was spinning a little bit.

Once we made it outside, Gemini let my hand go for a second. He only let it go so that he could pull his shorts up a little bit. They were hanging off his waist a little and he wanted to pull them higher. When I had to stand up on my own, I almost fell, but he grabbed my arm, so that I didn’t hit the ground. I had no idea how I was going to make it across the street, and back over to the truck. It’s like he could read my mind because he picked me up. I wrapped my arms around his neck, my legs around his waist, and he walked with me.

It was dark out, and this man walked with me, carrying me across the street, and walking all through the parking lot with me. He didn’t let me down until we neared the truck, and he unlocked it, and opened the door.

I stumbled inside, going for the sleeper area. I kicked off the sneakers that I was wearing, and by the time they were off, Gemini made it to the back where I was. Still out of my mind, I wrapped my arms around him once he was close enough. He lifted me, sitting me down on the counter area, while he stood in the middle of my legs. The palm of his hands were resting on my thighs. Since he did that, I placed my arms back around his neck.

“Why can’t we have sex?” I asked him again. He gave me that charming smile.

“I told you why already,” he said.

“So, if I wasn’t drunk, we would have did it?” I asked him.

“More than likely,” when he said that, I got so emotional.

There was that Don again, causing me to make a fool out of myself. I dropped my head onto his chest, and I softly began to shed tears.

“Why you crying, Amina?” he wanted to know.

“Because… because you don’t… like me,” I wailed, and I heard him laugh.
