Pants had never felt so uncomfortable.

Allen smirked and threaded his fingers through Jake’s hair, giving a playful tug before pulling away. The teasing gesture charged the air between them as he turned, walking off with a slow, confident sway that made it impossible for Jake to look anywhere else.

He sat and watched Allen disappear down the hall. The echo of his footsteps faded, leaving only the faint creak of the floorboards and the sound of Jake’s harsh breaths.

He stared at the empty doorway for a long time, mind blank and body humming, before letting out a shaky laugh. Jake raked a hand through his hair, still feeling the ghost of Allen’s touch.

Allen was his boyfriend. Allen had said yes.

Grinning, Jake pushed himself to his feet, stripping off his clothes in a hurried, careless blur, pulse pounding with anticipation for Allen’s return—and whatever might come next.

8 /ALLEN

Allen was prettysure he was losing his mind because there was no reasonable explanation for his recent life choices. He didn’t date. Allen fucking Monroe didn’t date. Allen liked to fuck guys when the mood struck, and if they asked for anything more than that, he ghosted them.

Apparently, Jake was the one exception. Allen didn’t know what made them click into place so easily, but it terrified him because it wasn’t rational.

But Jake had always made him comfortable. He always made him feel like he was the center of his universe, even when they were doing something as basic as cooking a meal together.

Coming home to Jake every day was a comfort Allen hadn’t realized he needed, and it scared the shit out of him because he had worked so hard to rebuild his life after his last boyfriend had ruined it.

But Jake was nothing like the shadow haunting his past—so he wanted to try.

One more time.

Allen walked back into the bedroom, his cheeks burning as he laid eyes on the man sitting on the edge of his bed. Jake had done as he’d asked and removed his clothes, so Allen took asecond to lean against the door frame and admire the specimen watching him hungrily.

“Hello,” Allen sang, grinning when Jake’s ears turned red. “I hope I didn’t keep you waiting for too long.”

Jake was a beautiful man. Height aside, he had a physique that would make anyone jealous. Years of hockey had carved lean muscle along his arms and chest, the definition that came from discipline and love of the sport. He looked almost unreal in the soft light of Allen's bedside table. His broad shoulders tapered into a trim waist, and his strong thighs, which were relaxed, still looked like they could crush Allen’s head with minimal effort.

The faint trail of hair on his abdomen drew Allen’s eyes lower before he could stop himself, because yes, he was a pervert. Jake wasn’t fully hard yet, but his cock appeared to be average, which was great because Allen had been expecting an elephant cock just looking at the man—his boyfriend.

He sighed, already wanting so badly to touch him, but he was hesitant to approach. He wanted Jake to call the shots for now, but he wasn’t giving Allen any cues, so he ended up standing there like a dumbass.

“Why aren’t you coming closer?” Jake asked, and finally, his gaze darkened as it swept down Allen’s naked body. “Please don’t tell me you’re scared.”

Allen huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. “Of you? No. Not even when you’re looking at me like you want to eat me.”

Jake rose from the bed, closing the distance across the room in just a few strides. He pulled Allen into his arms, one arm wrapping firmly around his waist.

“I do want to eat you, though,” Jake murmured, his voice low and rough. Then he leaned in and pressed their lips together.

The kiss started soft with Jake’s mouth brushing against his with deliberate slowness. Allen’s arms unfolded, his handscoming up to grip broad shoulders as their lips parted just enough for Jake’s tongue to trace the seam of Allen’s mouth.

The height difference between them was ridiculous, but Jake didn’t seem to mind having to bend over to take Allen’s mouth.

Allen opened for him, a quiet sigh escaping as Jake’s tongue slid inside, tasting him—moaning for him loud enough to send shivers racing down Allen’s spine. Their breaths mingled as Jake tilted his head to deepen the contact, sucking gently on Allen's lower lip before diving back in.

He was so vocal.

Allen could barely get a word out of Jake unless he was really engaged in the conversation, but he was completely different when they made out. It should be Allen who was making breathy sighs as his mouth was claimed. It should be Allen whimpering from every touch and the bruising grip Jake had around his waist. And it fucking should be Allen moaning into Jake’s mouth as he fucked him with his tongue.

“God, you’re so hot,” Allen said, whispering the words against Jake’s lips. “I love how loud you get.”

Jake’s free hand cupped the back of Allen’s neck, fingers threading into his hair to hold him steady. “Can’t help it. You’re driving me fucking crazy—you have been since the first night you let me sleep in your bed.”

He said that, but it wasn’t Allen’s choice to sleep with Jake’s thigh pressed between his legs. The only thing he was guilty of was wearing his prettiest clothes to torment Jake, but their positions were not his fault.
