Their arrogance wavers, but I’m not finished. “And as for your organisations… While you were busy coming here to wagewar against my brother, my teams were raiding your safe houses across Cape Town. Your financial channels have been frozen. Your weapons caches have been seized. And the men running your empires in your absence are dead as we speak.”

Parag and Singhal’s faces darken with rage.

“Your syndicates and your networks have been dismantled. Your empires are finished. Because that’s howwedeal with the underworld.”

The look of horror on their faces is so satisfying. Before either of them can respond, my men move in and handcuff them. I turn away and start walking back towards the vehicle. This operation is finally over. Or at least that’s what I think.

But the next second, everything goes wrong. Parag suddenly lunges sideways and slams his shoulder into one of my officers. The officer loses balance for a split second, and that’s all Parag needs. Before anyone can react, he yanks the rifle from the officer with both hands, spins around, and opens fire on Singhal. The bullets tear through Singhal’s chest. His eyes widen in shock as the force of the shot sends him stumbling backwards, and he collapses onto the ground.

Parag stands over Singhal’s body, gripping the rifle and breathing hard, his eyes burning with fury. “And that’s howIdeal with traitors.”

Every gun is trained on Parag, but before my men can close in, he shoves another officer aside and bolts towards the edge of the cliff.

I instantly raise my weapon. “PARAG! Stop right there!”

He doesn’t. I squeeze the trigger. The shot cracks through the night. I aim for his leg, wanting him alive, but at the exact moment I fire, his foot catches against a rock in his path, and he stumbles forward. The bullet misses his leg and slams directly into his lower back.

Parag staggers from the impact, but he somehow manages to turn and raise the rifle towards me. Then he fires. The bullets fly wildly and miss their mark… the desperate shots of a dying man who still refuses to surrender.

That one mistake seals his fate. My men open fire.So do I.Round after round of bullets tears into him. His body jerks violently as the bullets rip through his chest, shoulders, and stomach. Blood quickly seeps across his clothes as the rifle slips from his hands. His knees buckle, and Parag crashes to the ground.Dead.

For a long moment, nobody moves. The wind howls across the hillside. One body lies behind me, while the other is at my feet. Hemant Singhal and Parag Reddy. Two kingpins. Two empires. Finished within seconds. Just like that.

RK Estate - Present

The moment I tell Samarjeet that Singhal was the mole in their plan, colour drains from his face. That delusional confidence he has been carrying around turns into pure shock as he realises that Singhal had been feeding me every move they planned to make.

His fists curl at his sides. “Singhal,” he growls. “I should never have trusted him. I’ll rip him apart for this betrayal.”

“You’re a little late for that,” I mock. “Singhal is already dead.”

His head snaps up in shock yet again. I begin walking slowly around him, like a wolf circling its wounded prey.

“Parag killed him,” I reveal. “The moment he found out Singhal had sold all of you out, he put a bullet straight through his chest.”

Samarjeet stares at me in horror.

“And when Parag tried to escape,” I continue, flicking ash onto the ground beside one of his dead men,“my brother shot him. Parag is dead too.”

His breathing stops. The last traces of confidence leaves Samarjeet’s face as I stop directly in front of him.

“Parag is dead. Singhal is dead. Your men are dead.” I slowly glance around the battlefield littered with dead bodies. “Look around you, Samarjeet. Your empire isn’t standing behind you anymore. It’s been dismantled by GLEN as we speak. Barely a handful of your men are still breathing, and every one of them has a gun pointed at his head. You’re all alone.”

He gives me a murderous look, but I’m not done yet. There is still one more illusion I need to strip away.

“And those men you sent to Mumbai...” His expression shifts instantly. “...the ones you sent after my family. Every single one of them was picked up before they could even leave their hideout.”

Now he looks stunned. Samarjeet had sent a separate team to Mumbai to go after Baba and Meher. The moment we got the intel, we moved them to Walia Mansion, where I knew they would be safe.

What truly amuses me, however, is Samarjeet’s stupidity. The man actually believed he could send a handful of gunmen to attack my family. He had no idea who he was dealing with. By the time his men even thought about making a move, Vishnu had already ensured that half the state’s intelligence and security machinery was watching every route, every contact, and every safe house connected to them.

They never came close to Baba, Meher, or anyone else in my family. They were intercepted before they could take a single step towards them. Samarjeet thought he had sent his men to hunt my family. In reality, they were being hunted from the moment he gave the order.

I shake my head, amused. “If you actually believed your men could reach my family,” I smirk, “then there is no bigger fool than you.”

The words hit both his pride and confidence. By now, he knows that every move he made, every card he played, every backup plan he had...Failed.
