In a surge of movement, Kon swims toward me, and I immediately kick my legs and swim away.

He's large and swims with powerful movements that make it easy for him to close the gap between us, but I'm faster than he is and dodge him with ease.

Each time he reaches for me, I splash water in his face and dive down underneath the surface, swimming underneath him and rising up behind him.

He turns and swims after me, managing to grab my wrist, but it easily slips from his grasp in the water. I splash him again, turn, and duck away just like before.

He goes up, I go down.

He tries to catch me by creating a net with his arms and I swim in circles around him.

Each time he gets close under the water, I push off from the floor and dive upwards just as water caresses my legs like an extension of his touch.

Kon doesn't give up.

Every time he hears me laugh, the darkness in his eyes increases and each growl of my name sends my heart fluttering like it's grown wings and is eager to escape my chest.

We dance and swim, chase and duck, twist and race until tiredness takes over and I make it to the flat steps leading out of the pool.

It's here he finally catches me with a hand on my waist, the other bracing down against the steps while he hovers over me.

A thick, pulsing mass of muscle that pants while water droplets rain down on me as I lie back on the steps, matching him pant for pant.

"You caught me," I giggle between gasps. "Whatever will I do?"

He glares down at me, but there's no heat in his eyes.

No real fury or threat that would make me recoil.

If anything, there's a note of admiration. I reach up and run my fingers across his wet brow.

"You shouldn't scowl so much," I tease with a soft laugh. "You'll get deeper wrinkles.

"You are infuriating," Kon replies. He shakes his head, sending water splashing everywhere.

"Are you telling me you didn't enjoy the hell out of that?" I ask, placing both my hands on his drenched ribs. His shirt continues to stick to his body and even with the scorching sun above, the water lapping around us continues to soak his clothes.

"Enjoy?" he growls out. "Do I look like I enjoyed it?"

"I dunno," I tease, running my fingers down his temple to his cheek. "You never smile, so I have to decide which frown looks like a happy frown. Besides…" I lean up onto my elbow and cup his jaw. "I can see you staring at my tits."

My lack of a bikini top puts me on display, and as expected, Kon is an admirer, even if he tries to be a gentleman about it.

"I'm not mad," I assure him. "I am your wife, after all. All of this is for you to look at." I lean up further while resting my hand along his jaw, then I slide my thumb down over his chin and press my lips to his.

All I want is for him to show interest.

Even if it's just a kiss.

As long as I can assure myself that our wedding night wasn't the only time he'll fuck me, I can work on everything else.

His lips, chilled from the water, part slightly as I kiss him and for a single second, I fear he's going to pull back and reprimand me properly.

In that second, my heart lurches and uncertainty pools in my gut—uncertainty that vanishes the moment he kisses me back, and all doubt vanishes from my mind.

Kon kisses like a man possessed and the force of it pushes me back down onto the steps.

His lips cover mine, then they switch and weave our mouths together in a frantic dance of repeated kisses.
