I was, in fact, madly in love with Asher, and I knew that no amount of rationalization was going to change the way that I felt.

What had started out as an intense physical attraction had grown into something much more for me.

I should have known it was going to happen.

There wasn’t another man on the planet like Asher Remington.

How could I live with him, sleep in his bed every night, and not end up crazy in love with the man?

You’re flirting with heartache, Sierra.

God, I knew that, but I couldn’t bring myself to wish that I didn’t love him.

Asher was a man worth loving, so I couldn’t regret my emotions.

I didn’t know what the future held, but I needed to let go of the fear of being vulnerable.

If I didn’t let go of that fear, that would mean I’d never be willing to take a risk on something that could be wonderful.

Yeah, it was natural to be wary, but Asher wasn’t just a man worth loving. He was a man worth trusting.

I’d trusted him completely when I’d told him the truth about my past.

Asher released my mouth and kissed the side of my neck before he asked, “What are you thinking about?”

I snorted. I trusted him, but I wasn’t ready to tell him that I loved him. I didn’t think he was ready for that. “That should be obvious. I was thinking about you. You’re showing me a sexual part of myself that I never knew existed. I think I’m starting to like this wanton female.”

“That woman has always existed,” Asher informed me as he rolled onto his back and pulled me into his arms. “I think you’ve always been a passionate woman, Sierra. You were just afraid to express that side of yourself. You were never in a situation where it felt safe.”

I’d also never been with a partner who gave a damn about my pleasure.

“I think you’re right,” I said as I burrowed into his warmth and let out a loud yawn.

I glanced at the clock and suddenly realized that it was almost four o’clock in the morning.

“Sleep,” Asher insisted as he tightened his arm around me. “I’ll chase the nightmares away.”

I closed my eyes because I couldn’t keep them open.

That was a bold claim on his part, but he did exactly what he promised.

Asher

“She’s going to marry me,” I told Cole as soon as he answered the phone.

It was the day before we were due to leave for Texas, and I’d made my decision the day before.

Maybe we’d only been together for a short time, but I couldn’t imagine my life without Sierra anymore.

Shewasgoing to marry me.

This couldn’t end any other way.

Sierra was mine, and she was always going to be mine.

Cole chuckled. “It’s good to talk to you, too, brother. Does Sierra know this happy event is going to happen?”

Sierra had gone shopping with Reese, and I’d stayed behind to finish some things for my meeting in Austin.
