“Yes!” I gasped, panting from the aftermath of my climax.

His fingers digging into my hips, Asher found his own release with a long groan.

He wrapped his arms around me protectively, stroking my back as my heart slowed and I caught my breath.

God, I loved the way he held me when I felt vulnerable.

The man was fiercely protective, but I savored those tendencies from him.

It wasn’t scary, and I didn’t feel trapped by his dominance.

I relished it.

I knew Asher Remington would die before he harmed a hair on my head, and I’d never felt as safe as I did when I was in his arms.

“Good?” Asher rumbled after we’d recovered our breath.

I smiled and kissed the top of his head.

He always checked to see how I felt about any new sexual experience.

“Orgasmic,” I assured him.

He rolled me onto my back so fast that I let out a surprised squeal.

“That’s the only way it should be,” he said hoarsely.

His mouth came down on mine, and I instantly wrapped my arms around his neck.

I sighed into his mouth, savoring the embrace.

The chemistry between the two of us was always hovering in the air, but the embrace was sweet, thorough, affectionate, and playful.

He nipped at my lower lip in a teasing way that made my heart skip a beat.

I adored the playful Asher because it was so different from his usual demeanor.

It was a side of him that probably no one saw except me.

He ran his tongue over my lip soothingly and then captured my mouth again.

I threaded my hands into his hair and kissed him back.

God, I loved this man so much!

Loved?

My heart skittered.

I couldn’t love Asher Remington.

Falling in love with him would be incredibly risky.

We’d never talked about a future.

Still, there it was…

Those emotions weren’t going to go away because loving him was a little irrational.
