Once they exited the ballroom, the wedding planner ushered them into a side salon where the photographer started taking impromptu pictures as the close-knit circle of friends hurried over to congratulate the newlyweds.
At some point, the photographer asked Carrera and Slash to pose. Carrera stepped behind her, wrapped her in his arms, and said, “Forever and ever.”
She craned her neck in his direction, her eyes filled with love.
The photographer snapped several pics. “Beautiful,” he said. “How long have you two been together?”
Slash turned to the photographer, who continued clicking away.
“Not long enough,” Carrera replied.
“I could tell,” the photographer said. “I’ve been doing weddings for years, and I’ve gotten good at being able to spot the couples who’ll stay together.”
“We’re getting married ourselves,” Carrera said. “Can I get your contact info?”
“Okay, wow,” Slash said.
The man handed him a card. “Judge for yourself when the pics come back, but honestly, you guys were easy. If the love is there, the camera will find it.”
When the photographer moved on, Slash said, “Congrats on your engagement. When’s the big day?”
“Whenever you say it is,” he said before folding her in his arms and dropping a light kiss on her lips.
As the photographer was positioning the wedding party for group shots, Jericho and Liv hurried over.
“Liv and I will foster the children,” Jericho said.
“What?” Slash asked.
“I showed the guys the pictures of Layla and Owen,” Carrera explained.
Slash hugged them. “What a relief. That’s a big commitment.”
“We can handle it,” Liv said. “Our hearts broke for those little ones. We’re happy to take them.”
Carrera pulled out his phone. “I’m letting Sin know.”
“I’ll grab two car seats in the morning, then pick you guys up,” Jericho said.
“I’ll get the guest room ready for them,” Liv explained. “Then, explain to Liam—who just turned three—that we’re having Owen and Layla for an extended visit.” She smiled. “It’ll be fun.”
After the photographer snapped several group shots of the bridal party, they made their way toward the reception, held in the grand ballroom.
Slash walked over to Carrera, entwined her fingers through his.
“You are amazing,” she said. “Thank you, babe.”
He flashed her a smile. “You can thank me later.”
She laughed. “Yes, I can, and I will.”
