“Owen and Layla are very sweet. Owen has asked for his mommy and daddy. I want to give them as much stability as possible.”
“Take as much time as you need. You’ve got a job whenever you return.”
“I appreciate that. Jericho talked to Sin. He removed Elwood Tosh’s name from Owen and Layla’s foster records, so it doesn’t show them ever living with him.”
“Nice. If you need Slash and me to relieve you and Jericho from the mayhem, text me.”
“You and Slash, huh?” He could hear the smile in Liv’s voice. “Why don’t you two swing by Friday for dinner?”
“Sounds great.”
“I’ll text Slash,” Liv said before hanging up.
He arrived at FBI HQ and parked in his spot in the garage. Rather than drag Z up, he took the stairs to the basement.
Knock-knock.
“Come in,” Z said.
Carrera entered Z’s small office.
“What are you doing down here?” Z asked.
“Less eyes,” Carrera replied as he sat. “Liv’s taking the week off, and she might need longer. How many watchers do you have?”
“Three, including her. I could use a fourth.”
“Do you meet with them?” Carrera asked.
“Weekly,” Z replied. “They prefer to come down here, so you might want to keep this office. The watchers keep a very low profile.”
“Got it.”
After typing a few keystrokes, Z turned the monitor around so Carrera could see their HR files.
Interesting.
Despite his pact with Luciano and Sin, he wouldnotbe sharing this information with his cousin. If Luciano saw the names on that list, it would be a massive shit storm that neither he nor Sin could control.

Slash was stokedto be back at ALPHA full time. As she made her way toward her office, she said hello to two Ops.
“We missed you,” said one.
“Welcome back,” said the other.
She was thrilled to be there, couldn’t wait for BLACK OPS training that afternoon.
After dropping her things in her office, she pulled Karen’s laptop from her computer bag and went in search of Stryker. Her first stop? Emerson’s office, where she found husband and wife working away.
With Danielle on her honeymoon, Emerson had the space to herself.
“Hey guys,” Slash said.
“She’s back!” Emerson said with a smile.
