“I’m here, aren’t I?” He dissolves the distance between us, claiming my mouth in a demanding kiss.

Back arching in his hold, I thread my arms around his neck and bury my fingers in the soft hair at his nape. We need to leave—get the fuck out of here before Acid or the Breed intervene—but the world can wait for this.

It has to wait. I’ve had my life on pause in the name of helping others long enough; it’s time I did something solely and selfishly for myself.

I breathe a sigh, encouraging Fang to deepen the connection. He tilts his head, tongue sweeping against mine in a move that can be nothing else but a claim. A declaration that he’s all in. That everything he said was true.

We’re far from being good people, far from starting this out right.

But we’ve done it true to who we are: conditioned to a world that was never ours and tasked with the impossible job of changing that mindset.

Only love could carry a power strong enough to facilitate that shift.

Only a soul-deep connection with the enemy could challenge the status quo.

“We’ve got to stop this,” Fang pants. “Unless we want someone to find us both here butt-naked and otherwise occupied.”

I dot a last kiss to his lips. “Don’t you go changing your mind on me between here and home.”

His eyes light a little at me calling his clubhouse home. “Only thing my mind’s gonna be doing, Freckles, is imagining all the ways this could have ended.” He takes a step back, unraveling himself from me, and adjusts his jeans. “You ready?” Fang holds his hand out, waiting for mine.

I set my palm against his.

I’ve been ready for this for years.

FANG

“Any questions?”Chaos looks around the table after delivering a detailed breakdown of how we hope to argue Crow’s case and get him the freedom he deserves.

He’s met with a wave of shaking heads and the odd uttered, “Nope.”

The lawyer hired to get our brother home is one hell of a tenacious woman. She’s dug a full history on the Devil’s Breed member shot and killed that day, and painted a damning picture of a career criminal with no intention of allowing the altercation to end any other way: with the need for our club to defend ourselves.

On our home ground.

Making the deceased the instigator.

All we hope now is that the prosecution don’t have an equally black painting of Crow. We know a fair amount about his background and how he came to be with us at the Kings of Anarchy. But we don’t know everything, and it’s those gaps which can hang a man.

“Good.” Chaos taps the end of his phone on the table. “Next point, then.” His gaze lifts to mine. “Jenna.”

A few poorly concealed sighs and groans pierce the air.

“What do you think we should do with her, Fang?”

Asshole has thrown the subject at my feet with no clear direction on his thoughts about the matter.Fuck.“Leave her be.” I sum it up as briefly as I can.

We barely stepped foot back on Kings turf before Chaos had us all heading for the cabin. It’s been a long fucking day already, and I don’t have the fucking patience for this when all I want to do is continue to make amends with the woman, but needs are a must.

She stole my bike.

She brings trouble to our door.

And so, I need to convince the men there’s no issue if she stays.

Jinx leans forward, elbows on the table and hands clasped before him. “She took your bike, Fang.”
