The next few minutes went by in a blur and all she could focus on was Cyrus, his smiling dark eyes and his deep voice murmuring the vows. She did not know how she got through her own vows as she stumbled over a few of the words. She only knew she had never been happier than she was this day.

"I pronounce you man and wife. You may seal your vows with a kiss," Reverend Whittier announced.

Cyrus's kiss was far too brief, but it held the promise of much more pleasure later, without all the witnesses. Clapping and whistles followed, along with congratulations from the other lairds and everyone present.

When the others were distracted with the start of the music and the tables being set up for the feast, Cyrus took her hand and they gradually moved toward the stairs. He glanced around, then led her up the steps. At the top, he picked her up and carried her along the corridor and into his bedchamber. After setting her to her feet, he barred the door.

"You sneaky man." She was giddy with excitement.

"I had to get you alone," he murmured, his dark eyes intense with passion. "I have food here if you're hungry. And wine."

She shook her head. "I am only hungry for you."

"I'm glad to hear that." He grinned, moving forward.

Someone pounded on the door, causing her to jump. Much raucous laughter and teasing echoed from the corridor, mostly from Fraser.

"They'll go away in a minute," Cyrus whispered, leaned down and lifted her into his arms. He carried her to the bed and laid her gently across it.

"Oh, I want to thank you for the roses. How did you know I loved them so much?"

"Well, that day I found you in the garden, you were sniffing and talking to them. Aye?" He lifted a brow.

She laughed. "You acted like you thought I was talking to a person."

He smirked.

"You are so thoughtful and sweet," she whispered.

"Only for you… because I love you."

"And I love you."
