The dayI went to Poetics office Taylor wouldn’t let me in, she said he was in an important meeting that was going to last all day. I asked her can she let him know that I came and would like to meet up with him. It had been a few weeks now and he hasn’t emailed called or text. I guess he was trying to be done with me, but I wasn’t trying to be done with him. I mean, I was until my auntie said what she said. I was a bad bitch and I had a lot going for myself and could get just about any man I want, so why the fuck was Poetic Pain playing the fuck with me. I had got dolled up and made my way to his house. It was about 8 PM and I knew he was home. I pulled up to the gate and Jasper was there.

“Hello Jas, can you tell Poetic that I’m here to see him.”

“Ms. Starks, did he know you were coming here? You know how he feels about pop ups.” Jasper spoke pissing me the fuck off.

“I wouldn’t have to pop up if he would answer the phone. Now please Jasper can you tell him I’m here.” Jasper picked up his phone and left from away from the gate. I knew Poetic was going to be on some bullshit, I just had a feeling.

“Ms. Starks, Mr. Pain said he’s busy. He will contact you when he has some free time.” Jasper said. I was furious because Poetic doesn’t work from home so I knew he wasn’t busy. When he has a lot of work to do he stays at the studio. Poetic was starting to piss me the fuck off. He broke it off with me and now just giving me his ass to kiss. I didn’t do anything wrong I thought we ended on good terms and were going to remain friends. The vibe he’s giving tells me otherwise. I didn’t even say shit to Jasper. I just peeled off with my blood boiling. I was going to make my way to P&P Studios first thing in the morning. Since I was already dressed to impress. I made my way to the club to have me a couple of drinks to drown in my sorrows. I ended up pulling at the first hood bar I seen. I knew I didn’t fit in a place like this, but at the same time I wanted to be low key. Sometimes when you were at celebrity status the groupies didn’t leave you alone. Hell, I wasn’t even sure if I was at that status anymore. I should have had my bestie here with me, but I know she would talk my head off about leaving Poetic alone and finding me some new dick. The shit that my aunt said kept playing in my head. I kept thinking to myself what is wrong with me, why don’t he like me and it kind of makes me wanna prove myself. I hopped out my car and made my way up to the door.

“Can I see your ID, beautiful?” The guy at the door asked. I pulled out my license and handed it to him. So, relieved that he didn’t know who I was. Once he handed it back and the lady beside him checked my purse, I headed in the door. The music was loud and the place was packed. I was glad to see a seat right at the bar across from me was available. Soon as I sat at the bar the bar maid came over to me.

“What can I get you to drink?”

“Let me get a Don Julio with pineapple juice and run a tab I’ma be here for a while.”

“OK, I got you would you like a food menu?”

“Sure, you can give me a food menu.” Once she hand me the food menu and I looked at it. I decided on some mild wings and fried pickles with ranch sauce. After I told her what I wanted she handed me my drink and I drunk it straight down.

“I’ma need another one.”

“No, problem beautiful.” She said and smiled. When she came back she handed me two.

“You really shouldn’t be drinking like this. Let me guess Poetic upset you again.” Tony said while sitting in the barstool that was next to me.

“What are you doing here?”

“I grew up in this hood, I should be asking you what you doing here and why are you alone.”

“I’m alone because I’m grown, now are you going to try to be my daddy or are you going to keep me company and drink with me.”

“Now you know, I’m always down to keep you company beautiful.” He smiled causing me to do the same.” I wasn’t even going to lie I was low key happy to see Tony since I really didn’t wanna be alone.

I wokeup with a huge headache. I didn’t even know how I got home, but I was sure Tony played a big part in that. I smiled just thinking about the fun we had at the bar. Tony was really a good man and I will forever wonder why he don’t have a wife. Since I was up I decided to get myself together so I can head to the studio to see Poetic. I got up and grabbed me some Tylenol before I hopped in the shower. An hour later my head was feeling better and I was dressed and on my way out the door. I hope I got a chance to talk to Poetic because I was sick of getting the cold shoulder. Once made in my car with my seat belt on. I started my car and turned the music up and peeled off with P&P Studios in route. After being stuck in morning traffic for what seemed like forever I was finally driving up the long road to the studio. I was shocked they let me in without asking me a whole bunch of questions. I made it up the the front door and there Poetic was standing in the front of the studio holding hands with Tatum Reece. I turned my car off and hopped out so fast.

“Hello Poetic,” I said while walking up to them.

“Hey Kayla, you can go ahead in the building.”

“Hello Ms. Reece, I’m Kayla Starks.”

“Hello Kayla, Poetic I’m leaving be sure to call me later on.” Tatum said.

“Alright I got you,” Poetic said while kissing her on the cheek. I didn’t know what the fuck was going on here, but I didn’t like it one bit. I was fine as fuck with so much going for myself and here he is entertaining the fat reporter that he once hated. I didn’t say anything I just went in the studio and waited for him to come.

“Hello Ms. Stark, Mr. Pain will be back in soon you can have a seat.”

“I know I just saw him Taylor.” I snapped. I was pissed off at what I just saw. I couldn’t believe him; he even kissed that bitch on the cheek. I was fucking furious. He played in my face and acted like it could never be me and him and look at the shit I just walked into.

“Hey Kayla, what could I do for you?” Poetic asked standing in front of me.

“So, this is what we’ve come too? I can’t even get a private conversation with you in your office.” I snapped.

“Kayla you better quiet down in my place of business, before you don’t get no time to have a conversation with me. Now again what can I do for you?”

“You acting real different towards me Poetic and I see why. What you fucking that fat bitch Tatum Reece?” I was instantly pissed at the thought of him dealing with her when I’m a dime.
