He shifted slightly, hooking his arms under her shoulders, and began to fuck her proper, pumping his hips tirelessly. He was a machine, and each thrust brought her closer and closer to that beautiful peak. He brushed against her clit each time he filled her, made her gasp and claw at his shoulders. She kept her eyes closed, waves of raw desire washing through her. They were entwined, a thin sheen of sweat was on his back and between them. Their bond felt powerful and unbreakable.
She arched her back a bit as she knew it was coming, like a train barreling toward a tunnel. Then it fit her with the same force, followed by a brief glimpse of Heaven when everything stopped and only pure bliss remained. When her orgasm finallystarted tearing through her, she gasped like a fish out of water, every contraction making her nearly blind with desire.
He pumped faster, claiming her, ruining her for any other man. She felt when he came, his cock pulsating inside her. His weight briefly collapsed over her before he held himself back up. They were both breathing heavily, the bed somehow moved several feet from the wall.
He rolled to his back beside her. The man had a gorgeous, hard body. His chest was still rising and falling faster than normal. She wanted to touch him, to lick him, but she settled for cuddling up against him.
He kissed her forehead. No words. Just the perfect, calm moment.
Her mind was all over the place. She was leaving everything she knew to start over. The landlord had even lowered the rent a few months back so it was scary giving it up. But she was happy and had no regrets with her decision.
There was a knock on her apartment door, taking her by surprise. She moved up into a sitting position.
“Oh, my gosh. Do you think the neighbors are complaining?” she asked.
Evander didn’t look worried.
She hopped out of bed when the knocking continued and hoped this wouldn’t be the most embarrassing moment of her life. She quickly dressed and rushed to the door. After opening it a crack, she saw Violet, one of the women who stripped at Guy’s Titties. She didn’t realize anyone knew where she lived.
“Violet?”
“Callie, I need your help…”
“What is it?” She glanced behind her to make sure Evander had covered up before opening the door more, but he was completely gone. He was probably in the bathroom.
“It’s Leah. She needs your help at the club.”
“My help? Why?”
“She asked for you specifically,” said Violet. “Some shit went down and she only trusts you to watch her kids.”
“Are they at the club?” she asked. Callie was still half in a daze while trying to understand what was happening.
“Yeah, they’re all there. It’s a disaster. I think she’s going to quit.”
“Um, I guess I can come. I just need a second.”
Callie wasn’t sure how much help she could be. She certainly hated the thought of going back to Guy’s Titties. But Leah had been a good friend and if she asked for Callie, she was going to help if she could.
Chapter Nine
Evander was probably going to be upset that she’d left the apartment and hadn’t told him where she was going. She hoped Evander would just finish loading the boxes and then she’d be back before he was done. Guy’s Titties was not that far from where she lived. It would be quick to go and help Leah out, and then she’d be back. Maybe bring the kids over for a bit until things calmed down for their mother. It wasn’t like he said she had to stick around. He wasn’t keeping her prisoner. Their relationship wasn’t like that.
Violet was not her favorite person, so it was a shock to see the other woman coming to her front door. In the past, Violet had been quite violent, especially if she felt like some of the other girls were stealing her customers. If there was anyone at work who felt like there was a line drawn and it was a battle, it was Violet. Without a doubt.
If Leah sent Violet to her, then that meant her friend was in serious trouble and needed the help. There was no time to talk to Evander and explain everything.
Violet didn’t say a word to her, not as they made their way out of her apartment building. She didn’t even ask if she had been okay since she left. After all, she hadn’t returned to work after the attack, not even a hello, or to ask what had been happening in her world. Violet was a huge gossip. This was strange. Although Violet was not an all-round nice person, that never stopped her from faking it but also trying to get the gossip on anyone.
“How have you been?” Callie asked.
“Fine.”
That was it. No bragging about any special customers or the earnings she’d made from the dancing. Violet was a bragger.
“How’s Leah?” she asked.
“Fine.”
