I sat on the couch and made myself comfortable, grabbing the remote to turn the T.V on. I hit the red button when my phone started ringing, ignoring Messiah’s call for the 3rd time since I been here. I know what he might be calling for, but I ain’t got an answer for him yet.
I fell asleep a few times while I waited. What should’ve been thirty minutes took damn near two hours, and I was still in the same spot on the couch. I checked the time, glad I ain’t make no reservations anywhere because we never would’ve made it.
I was about to go check on her. I figured she slipped and couldn’t get up or some shit, but then she walked out, looking like every one of my goddamn fantasies. I stood up from the couch and walked around the back.
“Damn,” I whispered, my gaze traveling from down her body, lingering too long.
I knew she had curves, but I ain’t know she had curves like this. The brown dress looked painted on, like it was molded for her body only. The neckline dipped so low, I can see her titties poking out in the front. The whole fit matched the color of the highlighted part of her hair, which she had straightened down her back.
With the cheetah printed heels on her feet, we were almost at the same height. She pulled the edges of her dress down, but it was already pass her knees, so I didn’t see the problem.
“You like it? Is it too much?” she asked, letting her insecurities show.
Too much? Probably, because I'm trying not to jump all over her ass right now. I wanted to keep her here. She looked too good, and I wanted her all to myself tonight, but I know that ain’t fair for me to say.
I walked slowly towards her, and caressed her jawline with the back of my hand.
“You sexy as hell, Baby.” My fingers tingled on her skin, and I heard her inhale at my touch. “You ready?”
She nodded, before releasing a shaky breath. My eyes followed every move she made, as she went throughout the house, cutting off all the lights.
I grabbed her and led her to the whip, noticing how her hand slipped in mine effortlessly, like it always belonged there.
I know what we doing right now ain’t safe, or smart for either of us, but I’ll be a dumb muthafucka to ignore this chemistry. I can’t stop this. I don’t want to, and I truly believed this was God playing his hand in our lives. I just hoped for the best, but already expecting the worst.

BABY
I’ve never beento this place before, but when we stepped inside, I instantly knew I was gonna like it. He brought me to some urban restaurant in the middle of the city.
Soft R&B music was played from the speakers directly above us. You can tell by the décor that it’s a black-owned business, but it’s nice as hell and the food is more expensive than I thought it’ll be. I told Love he didn’t have to bring me somewhere so high priced, but he just waved me off like I was talking nonsense.
He glanced over and smiled sweetly. He’d been doing that all night, and every time, I squirmed under his gaze. I can tell he liked what he saw, and it was worth every second it took me to put it on. I thought about turning him down when he asked, but in the end, I just couldn’t say no to him.
When I was in my room earlier, I was losing my mind about what I should wear. I ain’t plan on going out, he caught me completely off guard. I had to call Jayda for some assistance. She confessed that she left another fashion nova dress hanging in my closet, in hopes I’ll wear it sometime soon. I don’t know how she be knowing these things, but my cousin knows.
I struggled for almost thirty minutes to zip this up, but I'd do it again just to see the look he had in his eyes right now.
She gave me a quick tutorial on how to straighten my hair and add a little mascara to my eyes. I lost count of how many times I poked myself in the eye, trying to get it right.
“How you like the food?” he acquired.
I noticed that he always maintained eye contact when he spoke to me. As if everything I say is important and he doesn’t wanna miss a thing.
“It’s good,” I muttered, cutting through a piece of steak. “I never had anything this good before.”
I dipped it in the A1 sauce, before popping it in my mouth. He smirked when a moan slipped from between my lips.
We made small talk through dinner, but neither one of us knew what to say that’ll be appropriate enough to discuss without crossing the line. He makes me nervous, my body ached to get closer to him, but I don’t know whether to talk to him as my parole officer or the man I’m on a date with. Because make no mistake about it, this is a date, no matter what we try to call it to make ourselves feel better about what we’re doing.
My eyes scanned the room, briefly glancing towards the TV screen at the bar. It’s a news clip, a manhunt from what I could see, but I was too far to hear anything.
Love tapped his feet gently against mine to get my attention.
“Hey,” I said softly, gesturing towards the middle of the room. “You wanna dance?”
A frown made its way on my face when I surveyed the crowd, and the empty dance floor. “But nobody else is.”
