Me: How has your shift been so far?

My phone then alerted me to an incoming FaceTime call.
“Officer,” I all but purred in response, only to be rewarded with a deep groan filling my ears. “Needed visual proof, did you?”
His camera was shaky as I watched him climb up into his truck.
“Hell, yes. You can’t tell me you’re naked in bed and not expect me to want to see you.”
My cheeks beamed with a bright smile that couldn’t be contained. “Are you going somewhere?”
“Yes, taking an early lunch and seeking temporary refuge in the safety of my truck, so no one else sees what is mine.”
“Is that all?” I smirked.
“Pretty sure you can guess the other reason.”
