Nick swung his legs over the edge of the bed. “I’ll be right back.”

He could feel her stare even as he strode naked to the bathroom.

Closing the door, he leaned against it, looking up at the ceiling. None of his fantasies about this woman had come remotely close to what she’d just done to him in that bedroom.

He looked down at himself.

Jesus. Semihard. And she hadn’t even let him touch her breasts. He felt a sting on his shoulders and looked in the mirror to see red crescent marks.

Jannie Larssen had marked him.

He chuckled softly. The physical evidence of how she’d marked his soul so many years ago.

When he returned after using the bathroom and washing his hands, he found her wearing a lavender camisole and matching shorts.

Apparently, she’d used the other bathroom. Well, that was disappointing. He’d been hoping for round two. He also wanted that nice steak at Cut, but from the look of her, dinner out was a no-go. He was sure she wasn’t up to putting on that disguise she insisted on wearing whenever they went out in public.

“Are you hungry?”

She zoomed in on his bare chest. “Starving.”

“But you’re not in the mood to go out.”

“Not particularly.”

He found his boxers. “OK. I’ll cancel the reservation. We’ll order in again and just hang out.”

“So much for night flying,” she said.

One corner of his mouth kicked up as he pulled on his briefs. “I thought that was what we just did.”

Jannie laughed, and it was like music to his ears.

“Chinese?” he asked.

“Sure.”

He grabbed his phone to order as she picked up the homely stuffedGerman Shepherd, hugging it and smiling. Her cheeks were still rosy, her lips red and swollen, and there was a post-sex glow about her that made his pulse quicken.

He placed the order and set the phone on the nightstand, turning his full attention to her. “They said around thirty minutes.”

“Good. That gives us time.”

“For what?”

“To talk some more.”

“Talk?”

Oh. Right. This wasn’t a situation where he could disconnect his mind and just move straight to aftercare. This was new. He’d never experienced vanilla sex in any relationship. All his past experiences involved some form of bondage, even his first encounters at the Blonde Bombshell.

This was … hell, he didn’t know what it was. But it was different and surprisingly satisfying.

Jannie smiled at him from bed, looking gorgeously just fucked, gazing at him with genuine admiration as he approached. He passed the dresser mirror, and the image of his scrawny teenage self floated across the reflection. Sometimes, in a deep, secret part of him, he still felt like that guy.

And that fucking guy was high-fiving the hell out of him right now.
