Chapter Sixteen
When the weekend endedand they returned home, Freya was still confused. The next morning, while she was afraid of even facing the twins, they were behaving normally, bantering with Tara and annoying the hell out of Tanya. The main difference was that they were openly flirting with her, small touches that made her blush furiously and made them smirk.
But by the end of the day, when she was alone, the conversation was replaying nonstop in her mind, and she was mulling over it.She needed to put a stop to ...whatever the hell this was.She was damaged and they were candy for the eyes. They needed someone better.
“And wherever your overactive mind is going, run in the opposite direction,” said Ciaran, softly. She turned with a scream.Ciaran was hanging out the window, his chin carelessly resting on his hand.
“What are you doing here?”she asked, placing her hand on her breast over her heart, which was beating wildly.“You almost gave me a heart attack.”
“Let me see if it still beats.”With a mischievous grin, he jumped inside and placed his hand over hers.“Yep.Like crazy.”
“Ciaran!Wake up, what are you doing here?”She asked, exasperated. He froze.
“Say it again.”
“What?”
“My name.Say it again.”
Was she dreaming?
“Ciaran?”
“Again.”
“Ciaran...”half whispered, half sighed. In two steps, he covered the distance that separated them, burying his head in her neck.
“Is this ok?”he asked in a slow voice. She closed her eyes, lost in his scent, in the way he gently touched her. When was the last time she had been touched with such care, such tenderness?
“Y-yes.”She was feeling dizzy, but in a good way.His body seemed like a furnace, and for the first time, she wasn’t afraid to burn. His fingers glided smoothly across her skin, igniting a hunger within her that she didn't recognize. She took a step back but only realized he had recoiled with her when she was backed against the wall.
“Talk to me, baby. How do you feel?”
“I...”words eluded her, and he took a step back so he could study her face. Her eyes were half-closed with desire, her breathing shallow...She was with him, every step of the way.
“Can I make you feel good?”
It took her a while to understand that he was speaking to her, but when she nodded, he smiled in satisfaction.
“If anything—and I do mean anything—makes you feel uncomfortable or brings you pain, or bad memories ...just tell me, okay?I’m not in your head, I don’t know what you’re thinking or remembering.”His hand slid down her collar until it reached her breast.Even through her clothes, her nipples were clearly pebbled. He toyed with them for a bit, only to slip his hand inside her shirt.
