The restof the night blurs into warmth and closeness.

Into hands and quiet laughter and moments that feel too easy to question.

Too right to stop.

We alternate between making love and fucking until we’re too exhausted to move.

And when I hold her in my arms, my eyes heavy, I feel more at peace than I ever have.

Because she’s here.

And somehow the scariest part isn't how fast this happened.

It's how normal it feels.

When I wake, the room settles into something soft and light. Early morning light dances through the window, spilling onto the bed.

She’s still lying on me, her head resting against my chest, her fingers tracing slow, absent patterns against my skin.

My arm is around her, holding her tight.

I stare at the ceiling, trying to process.

Trying to understand.

“This is…” I start.

I don’t even know how to finish that. Or if I should.

She looks up at me. “What?”

“I don’t know how to describe it.” I stroke her hair. “It’s… everything.”

She nods. “I agree.”

Her fingers glide over my skin. “You’re everything I've always wanted." She smiles against my chest. "I'm exactly where I want to be."

A prickle goes beneath my skin.

The same one that reeks of familiarity.

Like I've heard her voice before.

Like I’ve seen her before.

Like they're connected to something I can't quite reach.

But the feeling slips away before I can catch it.

So I push it away, snuggling into her.

Like we don’t need labels or logic or boundaries.

Just this.

Just us.

She shifts closer.
