Within ten minutes, we were back at the villa, she was still over my shoulder, laughing and singingMy Funny Valentine.

“Why that song, Spot?”

“Ugh, why not that song?”

I set her down inside the villa door and dropped her heels to the floor.

“You got all my jams playing,” she said, winding her hips.

We Gon Love Tonightcame through the speaker, and I pulled her to me and began to sway.

“I missed this,” she whispered.

“What is this?”

“Us, the love I feel every time we touch. The way we smile at each other. Our jokes. A person. You.”

We continued to sway as I chewed on what she said.

“That took a lot out of me to say, Duke.”

“I know, Spot, chill. I was just sitting with it.” I leaned back to look into her eyes. “I feel the same way, probably more. I was miserable without you, Skye. There’s not a single instance you’ll find me with a genuine smile.”

We stood there in the quiet of having chosen each other again, officially this time, with a ring, a yes, and everything behind us.

She reached up and unbuttoned my shirt.

“No rush tonight,” she said quietly.

“No rush ever again.”

She took my hand and walked me toward the bedroom, hips and ass moving from left to right. I followed because there was nowhere else I had ever wanted to be, and it would forever be like that. Nothing was going to take me from her.

This time was different from the forest, and we both knew it before it started. The forest was hunger. This was patience, earned by everything we’d survived to get back to each other. This was us wanting to feel every second without rushing past a fuckin’ thing.

I lay her down and looked at her in the soft light, her hair spread out, her eyes on mine.

“Hi,” she said.

“Hi.” I tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.

She laughed softly and pulled me down. Our lips met, and we stayed there a while, just her mouth and mine, all the time in the world to use it. I kissed her deep, taking my time finding the spots that still worked, the ones I’d never forgotten no matter how many years sat between us, until she sighed into me.

When I finally pulled back, it was only far enough to look at her.

“What?” she whispered.

“Nothing. Just looking.” I ran my thumb along her jaw. “We got nowhere to be.”

Her hands reached up and worked my buttons, one at a time. The shirt came off my shoulders, and she dragged her palms down my chest, slow, learning me all over again. Goosebumps came up under her touch. This woman could light my whole body up without trying. I stood there and let her.

When she pushed me back and reached for my belt, even that was slow. She undid it, looking up at me, taking her sweet time, while my dick strained against my zipper like it ain’t get the memo about going slow. I helped her with the rest because my hands wanted in it too.

She dropped to her knees in front of me. She didn’t dive in either. She looked up at me with her hands resting on my waist. I gripped her ponytail, knowing it drove her crazy.

“Take your time,” I told her. When her soft hands wrapped around my dick, my head went back slightly.

“Every man on this island had their eyes on you tonight, Spot.” I massaged her chin and cheek with my thumb. Her glossed lips looked so damn good. “I missed this pretty ass mouth.”
