I find myself wincing at my own retort. “They’re... brewing the coffee?”

Levi’s head tips back on a deep rumble of laughter that drives my tension away. Replaces it with something warm. Something I can’t remember having felt...ever.

Violette titters, offering me her hand. “Come, soulbound.Time awaits no one.”

Unity,I realize.

AZRAEL

Aknock on the bedroom door jolts me awake—it feels like I’ve only just fallen asleep after tossing and turning all night. When I roll over, it’s to find the late morning sun peeking into the room from behind the curtains. “Come in..."

Mors peeks his head in the door. “You have a few visitors here for you..."

My stomach knots.

Fuck. Is it someone else whose life I’ve upended?

“On a scale of one to Mareina, how much do they hate me?”

Mors chuckles.“Hmmm… At the moment? A two or three perhaps?”

Relief escapes me on a sigh.

“Would you prefer to receive them in the living room? Or the garden perhaps?”

“The garden.”

Maybe the sun and flowers will dim their ire.

Mors straightens to close the door, but before he can–

“Have I slept with them?”

With a roll of his eyes, Mors laughs. “I would certainly hope so.”

He shuts the door behind him, leaving me alone with the nervous butterflies taking flight in my stomach.

“I seeyou’ve taken up voyeurism..."

I jolt, straightening from behind the enormous Monstera plant through which I’m spying on two of my visitors. The sight of which awakened a throbbing in my chest.

The female of the two possesses unparalleled beauty—and the same violet eyes from my vision. Standing in front of her is a physically intimidating male with striking features, covered head to toe in tattoos.

Turning, I find...my twin?

“I thought I had no blood-related family.”

He smirks. “Well, technically, we don’t, no..."

I arch a brow.

He grins, tipping his head towards the tattooed male now pressing a kiss to the forehead of the violet-eyed female. Strangely, I don’t experience any jealousy.

Only yearning.

“It’s a long story that I’m certain Levi”—my twin nods towards the male beyond the window—“would absolutelyloveto regale you with.”

He claps me on the shoulder before heading towards the garden doors. “Come on,brother.Let’s get you back where you belong.”
