Aiden was being modest, of course. This isn’t a “small ride.” I’ve lost count of how many bikes have gathered at the Disciples of Sin clubhouse since we arrived.
There are over a hundred, and they’re not all Disciples members. There are cuts that sayTitans MCand cuts that belong to Dagger’s club,Wretched Souls, but so far, no Dagger. When I get off the back of Aiden’s bike at the Disciples clubhouse, all eyes are on us.
Some eyes I know, some I don’t. I’m worried about the near constant ache between my thighs on the ride, but mercifully, Aiden let me take the plug out of my ass before we left.
“They’re all watching us.”
“No, they’re all looking at you, because I’ve never arrived with a woman before.”
“To the club?” I ask, taking them all in.
“To anywhere, Rhiannon,” he says, and I melt just a little.Fuck, I hate that I actually like that name now, because I understand it. It’s a form of respect. Worship.
“And none of them matter. You’re with me, so I want your eyes here,” he says, tilting my chin away from the crowd toward him, then leaning down to kiss me, not a care in the world about who’s watching, and for the first time in my life, I don’t care either.
* * *
I won’t be out there to train tomorrow but I’ll be there at my usual time on Tuesday. Tell Briggs to try not to miss the ass-kicking too much.
Patty
I’m sure he will, but have fun with your friends. He has a crew of rangers coming in this weekend anyway. He said you better not go soft on him in three days.
Not a chance.
I grin as I put my phone in my purse. If she only knew I was with a biker club president, with bite marks on my thighs, and until an hour ago, a plug in my ass. She might not be so excited for me then.
“Yeah, so are we all just going to ignore the fact that you came here with Prez?” Libby says as she lights a cigarette, copping a seat beside Trina. We’re all sitting around the bar inthe main room of the clubhouse while we wait for the guys to finish packing up. Libby is riding down with Stone, and Trina is riding down with Roz in her SUV.
“I never thought I’d see the day.” Trina laughs. “You must have a fucking golden pussy.” She snorts back more laughter. “Don’t be offended. We only joke because we’re jealous.”
“Insanelyjealous,” Libby adds, taking another drag from her smoke.
“Why would you be jealous?” And I realize that I hate the thought of any other woman looking at Aiden. I try to unpack the way that makes me feel, and the emotions of actually belonging to Aiden, to always having someone in my corner, tug at the growing knot in my gut.One more person to lose.
“Either of you could have any of the men here,” I tell them both. Libby leans in, her brown eyes watching me.
“None of these men do it for me,” she says, looking around the room full of regular patched members, and I understand what she means. She wants someone ranked. Her brown eyes turn again to focus on me. “I have bigger fish to fry.”
Trina laughs. “Always hold out for the highest rank.”
“Exactly,” Libby says, looking around, then back at me.
“So give me the rundown. What can I expect?” Every club is different, and I have no idea what the plan is for tonight.
Libby smiles as she fills me in on the route we’ll take through Georgia, what band is set to play at the camp tonight, what other clubs will ride with us.
“…and they have Smokes Grill there. Oh my God, they make the best barbecue! And we’ll dance. Just stick close so we can keep you away from the rowdies.”
Libby’s endless chatter is endearing, and it’s nice to realize that I actually seem to have made a friend.
“I hope one of you bitches packed the non-alcoholic wine for me tonight,” Roz states, coming through the overhead door with a smile, pushing her trademark oversize sunglasses up onto her head.
Trina reaches into her bag and lifts out a bottle of false red. “I’ve got you, Mama.”
Roz nods at Libby. “Good, then get your shit in my car. I’m leaving before the crowd. Stone is waiting for you.”
Libby reaches over and hugs me. “I’ll see you out there.” She winks.
