“I haven’t had anything to drink tonight; we came in my car.I’ll be fine,” she says and gives a sweet smile.I watch as Ivy leans over and whispers something in her ear that makes her cheeks turn a light shade of pink. Finally satisfied, Stone turns to head down the hall. What I would give to know what Ivy just said.

Just as I pop up from my seat to fill the chair next to Sutton, Rocky comes over.

“I’m Rocky,” he introduces himself to her and steals the seat next to her.

“Hi, Rocky, I’m Sutton,” she tells him, offering her beautiful smile in greeting.

Rocky is Stone and Blaze’s younger brother who has Down syndrome. He’s a member of Dead Road MC, so we watch out for him.He may not ride with us, but he pulls his weight around here and contributes as much as he can.

Rocky moves right in and pulls Sutton into a surprising hug.She rolls with it after a moment being caught off guard.

“Are you an Ol’ Lady?”

“I’m not old,” she adorably tells him, not understanding our code.

“You want to come see my room?”he asks, his lisp more prominent when he’s had a few drinks.I watch as her eyes widen in shock.I’m a bastard for enjoying watching her sweat.

“Oh, I don’t think?—”

“She’s with me, brother,” I voice, laying claim so that he’ll know that she’s taken.“Sutton and Ivy are Raegan’s best friends.”

“I love Raegan,” he tells her.

“She’s the best, isn’t she?”she comments, and I watch as she relaxes slightly.

“I fix motorcycles and trucks,” Rocky changes the subject and pushes his thick glasses up the bridge of his nose.

“Wow, that’s really cool.I can’t fix anything on a car.But I like watching and teaching little kids.”

“You have kids?”

“No, but I work with them at my job,” she informs him.

“Havoc has Zane.We play hot wheels and build with blocks,” he tells her animatedly.

Zane loves Rocky and their time playing together. When we go to the store for his prize for doing chores, he always has to pick something out for Rocky and him to play with.

Something startles Sutton and I watch her reach down and pull a phone out of a pocket in her dress. She reads something and frowns.

“I’ve got to get home.It was so nice meeting you, Rocky.I hope I see you real soon,” she leans over and gives him a hug.He engulfs her, pulling her a little harder in and then lays his head on her shoulder. If she’s bothered by it, she doesn’t show it but waits until he is ready before breaking the hug.

“See you soon,” he says as she turns to Ivy.

“I’ve got to get home,” Sutton says to her as she and Riot grope each other.“Want me to drop you off?”

Ivy waves her hand, but Riot speaks first, “I’ll make sure she gets home and tucked in.”

Sutton scrunches her nose, and I catch the laugh that bubbles up from her expression.

“I’ll walk you out,” I say, standing.

No way am I going to let these fuckers think she’s fair game. She doesn’t respond but starts to make her way towards the front door.I place my arm around her waist and guide her out, thankful that she doesn’t put up a fight.

We walk out to a white car that has a number on the side of it as though it’s a company vehicle.

“Is this your car?”

“It belongs to my father,” she says, fishing for her keys in her purse.
