I look at him through hooded eyes. “What are you waiting for?”

Mason reaches over me and pulls the drawer open. After rummaging around, he pulls out a pair of handcuffs lined with fur. His eyes are dark and hungry as he binds my hands using a silk necktie. Once he’s done, he gives them a firm tug and flips me onto my back.

I push myself up on all fours and glance back at him.

He positions himself behind me, and in one quick thrust, he’s inside of me.

I cry out when he eases out and slams back in, at a slow and even pace.

My breathing is short and shallow as I grind against him, needing more.

Mason digs his nails into my waist and holds me still. When he eases out and pauses, I mumble something before he slams into me, and I fall forward. He holds me still as he slams in and out of me, his pace frantic.

When my chest feels like it’s going to burst, he fucks me harder, with wild and animal-like abandon, until I have no idea where we are, or who I am.

I come back down to my body and realize I’m shaking and writhing.

Mason gives a few more quick thrusts and empties himself into me.

Spots are dancing in my vision, and I’m still trying to catch my breath when he eases out of me. Slowly, and with a surprising amount of tenderness, he helps me lie down and drapes the sheet over me. He gets up and presses a quick kiss to my forehead.

I wait until I hear the shower running before I prop myself up.

My heart is racing as I take out my burner and wait.

Miss Deveroux picks up on the fourth ring, and there’s music and laughter in the background. She says something, and it goes quiet.

I grip the phone tighter and keep my gaze fixed on the bathroom door.

“Are you alright?”

I hold the phone with both hands. “No, I’m not.”

“What do you need?”

I inhale, sharply. “About what we talked about…does the offer still stand?”

A pause.

“I know it’s a big ask and a huge risk, but I’ll figure out a way to pay you back when I can, and I’ll make sure it can’t be traced to you.”

“Does he know about the baby?”

I swallow. “He knows. I don’t have a lot of time.”

“Okay.”

Miss Deveroux is risking a lot more than her reputation by helping me, but I can’t ask anyone else.

Olivia will convince me to stay, and I can’t risk Katia telling Mason about my plan before I’m ready to.

No one else will understand.

“I’ll be in touch in a few days,” Miss Deveroux replies. “Don’t call me. I’ll find a way to reach you.”

The line goes dead before I can say anything else.

I blink back the tears, shove the phone into the drawer, and wrap my arms around myself. Mason returns, a thin mist following him into the room. On my way past, I offer his hand a squeeze. In the shower, I press my forehead against the wall and let the warm water run over me, mixing with my tears.
