The sight of Cassian's hand resting possessively on Juliet's waist felt like a knife twisting in his chest.

Beside him, Alexa noticed the sudden change immediately.

"Vincent?" she called softly, reaching for his arm.

He didn't respond.

His eyes remained fixed on Juliet.

Then, as though the universe had decided to mock him further, Cassian lowered his head and pressed a lingering kiss against Juliet's forehead.

Crack.

The champagne flute shattered in Vincent's hand.

The sharp sound cut through the surrounding conversations.

Nearby guests gasped in alarm as shards of crystal scattered across the floor.

"Shit!" Griffin immediately grabbed Vincent's wrist. "Are you crazy?"

Blood dripped steadily from Vincent's palm, sliding over his fingers before falling onto the polished marble floor.

She remained tucked securely against Cassian's side, laughing at something he whispered into her ear.

She looked happy.

Genuinely happy.

And Vincenthatedit.

The jealousy that had been simmering inside him all evening finally exploded into pure fury.

A short while later, Juliet quietly excused herself and headed toward the ladies' restroom.

Vincent watched her disappear through the ballroom doors.

Without a word, he handed the broken glass to a stunned waiter and strode after her.

The moment Juliet stepped out of the restroom several minutes later, she froze.

Vincent was standing in the otherwise empty hallway, his broad shoulders rigid, his expression dark.

"What are you doing here?" she asked immediately, frowning.

Instead of answering, Vincent took several long strides toward her.

Juliet instinctively stepped backward.

"Vincent—"

Before she could finish speaking, he caught her wrist.
