His command fills me with delicious anticipation. I’m aching to have him inside me again, and my brain goes wild thinking of him taking me from behind. He lowers the chair’s back rest and I lie flat with my chin on my crossed arms. But when I look over my shoulder at him, he isn’t grabbing a condom. Instead, he’s flipping open the lid on the sunscreen.
“What are you doing?” I ask.
“Can’t have you getting burned, can we? Face down. Spread your legs.”
I obey, letting out a sigh as his palms streak down my legs and my back with the warm, wet touch of lotion slicking over my skin. The scent of coconut fills my nose as he massages my shoulders and lower back, drawing more soft moans out of me. The man is an expert with his hands. They cup and knead my ass, then slide down to my thighs and my calves. Still relaxed from the orgasm, his strong hands on my body amplify it by a hundred until I’m nearly asleep.
“No sleeping, Sunshine,” he whispers in my ear. “I’m not done with you yet.”
“Good. I was beginning to wonder when you were going to have your way with me.”
“As soon as we have a little champagne.”
Turning onto my back, I sit up and watch him expertly pop the cork. He pours us two glasses, and I accept the flute he offers. The champagne is bubbly and cool on my tongue as I sip it while taking in the work of art that is his perfect, naked body.
I never want this to end.
I wish my parents hadn’t flown in to meet me, and that I was still here alone to spend the rest of my vacation with this man. The phantom tick of the clock taints my enjoyment as our time together dwindles, second by second.
But the two of us are in a world of our own right now, and I’m determined to take every advantage of it.
Which is why I’d rather just…not say goodbye. Not officially. Because when I get back home and I have to work fourteen-hour days while I try to learn how to eventually take over running the team, all so my parents can retire someday and maybe properly mourn my sister, well…a big, sad goodbye with my summer fling isn’t going to be the memory I want to sustain myself with.
And I’m not going to embarrass myself by asking if he thinks we could work out something long distance, either. Even if he agreed to try, we’d both be lying to ourselves pretending it wouldn’t fail. Part of the reason this feels so good is because we know it’s fleeting. A fire that’s meant to burn bright and hot and wild for only a brief time, which is why it’s so damn beautiful.
Draining my glass, I set it on the table and get up, pulling on my clothes quickly. Extending my hand to him, I thread my fingers through his and smile.
“Finish your champagne and get dressed. You and I have a hotel room to destroy.”

BLAIR
We don’t go backto the hotel right away. Instead, I’m led down yet another path lined with palms and cedars and fragrant frangipani bushes which opens into a lush botanical garden with a stone fountain splashing at its center. Perched at the edge of the courtyard is a small snack hut painted in shades of yellow, pink, and bright green. A woman with multi-colored braids serves coffee and cold drinks and delicious looking pastries to the people waiting in line. To my surprise, it’s a mix of tourists and locals. Whatever this woman is serving, it must be pretty spectacular.
“Can I interest you in a switcha?” Scowl asks.
As much as I want to get back to the room, I can’t turn down an island limeade. “Sure.”
The line moves quickly, and when we get to the counter, he chats with the woman as if they see each other frequently. A minute later, we’re walking away with cups of icy cold switcha and a paper plate of sliced duff, the national dessert. It’s similar to a jelly roll cake, except a million times better. The light, spongy cake has spirals of guava in it, and the slices are covered with a rich rum butter sauce.
“I’ve had plenty of duff on this trip already, so it’s going to take a lot to impress me,” I warn Scowl teasingly.
“Trust me, Sunshine, this duff is going to put all those other duffs to shame,” he says. “This is the real reason I brought you here.”
Taking the treats to a nearby table, he pulls a chair out for me and then sits. He must sense my urgency to get back to the room and have my way with him because he lightly takes my hand and says, “I know you’re dying to get back to that room so I can fuck you senseless, but one bite of that duff and you won’t blame me, I promise.”
How can I be frustrated at such a delightful gesture? He scoops up a forkful of the dessert and hands it to me. “Cheers,” he says, and then I take a bite. The burst of sweet guava, cinnamon, and rum in my mouth makes my entire face tingle.
“Oh myGod.”
“I told you.”
I quickly take another huge bite, moaning as the flavors hit my tongue again.
“Why is this so much better than any other duff I’ve tasted?” I ask incredulously.
He smiles. “She adds a layer of cream cheese to the guava, and the cinnamon goes in the rum sauce instead of the fruit. It makes all the difference in the world. There’s mango duff there, too. Try it.”
