“Can you taste him?” I murmured. “Taste yourself?”

Sophie traced her tongue across the seam of my lips and nodded before pulling away, a pleased smile on her face. I raised my hand and tucked some more hair behind her ears, traced the angle of her jaw around to the roundness of her chin. Sophie’s lashes fluttered and she tipped her head up, letting me dance my fingers down the line of her throat.

Her skin was so warm, so soft.

“Please don’t make me regret this,” I whispered.

“I could say the same to you.”

I closed my eyes, clenching my molars so I didn’t outwardly grimace at her warning.

“Daniel and I have never done this before, at least…notlike this,” she said. “We’re all in uncharted territory.”

It was a wild thing to be in bed with a woman who was less than a year out from being married, to have her be the one asking me to be careful with hearts that didn’t belong to me. I’d never imagined myself in that situation before, and I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it.

“I realize none of us know what this even is, but it’s serious for me. For us.” Sophie worried her lower lip between her teeth, and I reached up to tug it free, rubbing my thumb over the imprint left from her canine. “We want this to work. I…I don’t…”

“Don’t?”

“I don’t know how we’d recover if it didn’t,” she said quickly, pushing herself out of bed before I could say anything back. She tucked herself back into her bra and grabbedmyshirt off the floor. She stood at the edge of the bed and slipped it over her head, and it was all I could do to not stare at the hint of dark lace beneath the white material, to ignore the way the hem barely reached the tops of her thighs.

“Sophie.”

“I’m sure the nachos are ready.”

“Sophie,” I said again, crawling across the bed and reaching for her.

She gave me a tight smile and shook her head, stepping back and raising a hand to stop me. “I shouldn’t have said that.”

“Is it true?”

“I won’t ever lie to you, Finn.” Then she turned on her heel and left me naked in bed. She stopped in the bathroom to pee, and then headed after Daniel in the kitchen.

Groaning, I rolled over to the other side, grabbing the condom off the floor and tying it off. I had no interest in putting my jeans back on. Daniel wasn’t even wearing pants, and Sophie had commandeered my shirt. After digging around in my bag for a clean pair of underwear, I detoured to the bathroom to toss the condom and check myself out in the mirror. My chest was flushed, speckled pink at the base of my throat, my hair was damp from sweat at the roots. My cock hung against my thigh, still half-hard. It was going to be a long weekend, I thought to myself as I stepped into my clean underwear.

I didn’t think I’d brought enough.

They had to have a washer and dryer. If not, I would obviously be forced to lie around naked in their bed for the rest of the weekend.

It was going to be a long couple of days.

In the best way.

I padded barefoot and mostly naked into the kitchen, finding Sophie at the dining room table with her laptop open and Daniel in process of pulling a tray of nachos from the oven. I cleared my throat before coming into the room, and both of them turned to look at me, matching looks of adoration and interest on their faces. Sophie closed her laptop and shoved it away, kicking out one of the chairs in invitation. I sat down and stretched my legs out, crossing them at the ankles.

“You don’t need to stop working on my account,” I said. “Though if it’s that easy for you to turn your brain back on after sex, I think I need to try harder next time.”

Sophie rolled her eyes at me, and Daniel sat down across from her, nachos in the middle of the table.

“It’s her wedding mood board,” he said. “A little backward to pick the cake first when we don’t even know what the colors are.”

“September 24th?” I asked, even though I knew. The date had immediately burned itself into my brain whether I wanted it to or not. “I think obviously like a dark green and gold.”

“Obviously?” Sophie teased, scooping up an overly cheesy chip from the baking sheet and shoving it into her mouth. Another indecent sound fell out, and I breathed deep to school my reaction. I’d never get anything done in life ifeverythingabout Sophie turned me on to the point of dysfunction.

Daniel threw her a curious, sidelong glance.

“Your bedroom is green.” I gestured toward the hallway that led to their bedroom in justification of my choice.
