“There’s no better time for tea than now,” Soren agreed promptly.

Tempy sighed in a dreamlike fashion.“You two are perfect for each other.Opposites.But perfect.”

“Soren, would you like—” Pru tried to ask.

“Opposites are never perfect for each other,” Verity huffed.

“Soren—” Pru tried again.

“You’re just saying that because you’re bitter, Verity. One day you’ll get over it.I can already see it in my mind,” Tempy announced vaguely.

“If you’re so all-seeing, who do you imagine for yourself?”Verity challenged.

“Soren, would you—”

Tempy only tapped her chin playfully and interrupted Pru for the third time.“That is a very good question.”Then she threw a coy look at Pru who was pouring tea for everyone.“Oh dear, I apologize Pru.Soren, I do believe Pru was asking you a question.”

“Here?”Soren teased.“You want to ask your question now?”

Pru blushed and walked over to him, handed him his tea, and shoved a petit four in his mouth.“Perhaps…I’ll ask later.”
