Wesley glanced back at the tattoo.

Hope and faith were for the naïve. For the gullible who were tricked by platitudes, for the cowards who couldn’t face life’s brutal truths. They had no place in the heart of a jaded viscount who knew exactly how callous and cold the world truly was.

But then, he’d been convinced there was no place in his heart for anything at all, before Sebastian had come into his life and changed everything.

“There’s an actual lion house we haven’t even seen.” Sebastian had a teasing grin. “You still like lions, yes?”

When others had seen nothing but a scoundrel in Wesley, Sebastian’s magic believed it could trust him with the lion.

Maybe it was Wesley’s turn to believe.

He met Sebastian’s eyes. “I love lions,” he said, with a small smile of his own, and let Sebastian pull him into another new adventure.
