“And we think it’s something you’ve done before.” Drew winked.

Gabe winked back, smiling broadly. “Now what can I get you from the bar?”

EPILOGUE

Kris

The restof the cruise had been wonderful. And over way too soon as far as Kris was concerned. The only saving grace was that he and Drew lived in the same city, so they could still see each other. In fact, when Kris learned that Drew’s family was on the West Coast, and Drew would be alone for Christmas, he immediately invited him over for a holiday celebration.

“What time are you coming over, Iz?” Kris asked. They always spent Christmas Eve together, watching holiday movies and munching appetizers. Since it was Sunday, neither of them was working, so they could start a little earlier if they wanted to. Izzy lived a few blocks away, so she’d normally walk over and take a rideshare home so they could play drinking games while watchingIt’s a Wonderful LifeorWhite Christmas.

“It depends,” she said. “What time are you expecting Drew? Do you want some alone time to smooch before I get there?” Drew was joining them for the festivities that evening and would spend the night so that he and Kris could spend Christmas Day together.

“No, he’s working until six and then heading over here. You should come early.”

“That’s what he said,” she deadpanned, and Kris groaned.

“Why am I friends with you again?”

“Because I found you a boyfriend, silly. You know you love me. And besides, we’re more like family at this point.”

“You’re not wrong, Iz. Why don’t you get here around four? You can help me finish prepping a couple of the appetizers, and we can try some new wine I found.”

“Deal.”

“And Izzy, I know I’ve said it already, but thanks again for Drew. He’s the perfect Christmas gift I didn’t even know I needed.”

“That’s what families do, Kris. We rarely cause a scene, and we always take care of each other.”
