I laugh softly and shake my head. “This is seriously the best and most unexpected gift.”
“You like it?”
I kiss him again. “I love it. It’s perfect.”
“Good. Because they made us a special birthday episode.”
He grabs the remote and switches on the TV across the room. I settle back against his chest as our favorite couple fills the screen.
“All your favorite scenes,” he murmurs softly to me as his fingers trail lazy lines up and down my arms. “But with birthday cake and confetti.”
I watch the Wellingtons with my husband and find myself smiling, thinking about what romance really is. It’s being known completely and loved anyway. It’s found in the everyday moments that most people overlook. Romance isn’t about pretending. It’s about finding the one person you never have to wear a mask for.
And I couldn’t be happier to have that with Seth.
The End.
