“The detectives interrogated Mr. Henderson, and he finally admitted to an extramarital relationship with Miss Foster.”

I found Simone’s choice of words interesting. Extramarital relationship. It was an affair! Call a spade a spade,” I wanted to shout. It was Mason’s fault. It was all his fault. Haley was missing because of him.

“But apparently, he’d broken things off with her the day before Haley went missing. So… obviously, she is a person of interest.”

The detectives were looking into her, not so much because of our psychic discoveries, but because the facts surrounding her were suspicious. Either way, we led them to her, so we had done our job. I fully expected Simone to tell us we’d be heading to Michigan again, and I was raring to go.

“Unfortunately,” she continued. “The detectives weren’t able to search her parents’ home yet without a warrant, which they are working on at the moment. The parents aren’t being very cooperative. And most likely, a warrant would not extend to RAMS Academy.”

“So we can’t go spy around her house?” Kendra asked.

“But there must be something we can do to find her,” I broke in. There had to be something.

Simone sighed. “Not at this time, I’m afraid.”

A dreadful silence filled the room.

Simone finally broke the silence. “The police are looking into her life, her friends, her work, I’m sure they’ll find something soon. Let’s keep positive.”

I wasuseless the rest of the day. I was a zombie in Biology, Psychic Development and English. I had an essay due in English, and I wondered how I could ever work on it when all I could think about was Haley.

We had to do something more. I had to do something. I thought about Leo. I’d been trying to give him his space, but I needed him. And I needed Brianna to help me get to him.

“So I hear you’re an expert when it comes to getting into the boys’ dorm,” I said to her.

“No way!” She slammed the door in my face.

I pounded on the door until she couldn’t take it anymore. She swung the door open. “What is your problem?!” she asked. “If you think I’m going to help you get into Ace’s room, you’re dreaming.”

“No,” I cried. “I want to get into Leo’s room.”

She stilled for a second. “I’m listening...”

I didn’t go into Haley’s case. I thought I’d have a better chance to win her over if I tried a different angle. “I like Leo. I’m crazy about Leo. Friday night was a mistake. I don’t like Ace at all. The whole kiss thing was sort of a joke…” I feigned a soft giggle, “you had to be there.”

She cocked a brow. “Really?!” She seemed cynical. “Are you and Leo together?”

“Not yet,” I told her. “But if you help me, we might be.” It was in her best interest to help me. If Leo and I got together, I’d be out of the way, and she could hook up with her precious Ace.

“Come in,” she said.

Leo was shocked to see me when he opened the door. He reluctantly invited me in, and he certainly didn’t hang a tie on his doorknob. He was wearing grey sweats, and a plain black t-shirt, but still managed to look good. His side of the room was a little messy, but the other side of the room was a complete disaster.

“Jordan… he makes an impressive mess for a guy who’s practically never here,” he joked.

The walls were full of posters; concert posters on his side, and not so tasteful scantily-clad dressed women on Jordan’s side. I turned to him, a little uncomfortable. “So… how have you been?” I asked in an attempt to break the ice.

He smiled playfully. “I’ve been feeling… kinda, how do you say… Pizza Pocket-ish.”

I laughed. He was making fun of me -- this was a good sign.

I studied the photos on his desk and bookshelf; him and his dog, him with a brunette, and another brunette, and another one! Was Leo Estrada a secret player? I picked up one of the photos. “Nice picture.”

“That’s Whisky,” he said, a smile tracing his lips. He couldn’t be that mad at me -- he’d let me in his room, and now he was smiling at me.

I picked up another frame; him and a pretty brunette at a baseball game. They were smiling, cheek to cheek. Did he have a thing for brunettes?
