Her eyelids grew heavy and drooped, and all at once, she dropped off to sleep under the starlit night.

Golden sunlight streamedthrough the half-shuttered window. Angie woke up with a start to a loud buzzing noise and, in a sleepy haze, realized that someone was running a lawnmower. She tucked the covers under her chin and nestled back into the pillow.
Crow was still asleep, his naked form half outside the comforter. For a long moment, she
just watched him, appreciating his strong muscles, highlighted by the sun’s morning glow, his black hair, messy from sleep, and dark scruff that deliciously scraped against her skin while they made love.
A smile spread across her face as memories of the night before played out in her mind: her first motorcycle ride, sex under the night sky, and slow lovemaking when they came back in the early morning hours. She never imagined sex could be so wild and exhilarating. Crow had brought out desires in her that she never knew were there. It was liberating and frightening at the same time.
Angie stretched around to look at the clock on the nightstand and realized she was more than two hours late for work. Bolting up from the bed, she gasped at the soreness of her private parts and her lower back. A soft chuckle fell past her lips as she slowly rolled off the bed, picked up her cell phone, and padded to the bathroom.
Angie stood by the kitchen sink an hour later, gazing at her backyard through the window. The elm tree in the corner was in full bloom, and purple flowers dotted the bush along the back fence.
Butter melted in a frying pan, bacon sizzled on the grill, and a pot percolated and bubbled on the counter as the aroma of roasted coffee beans filled the air. She hummed to herself while moving around the kitchen to prepare a late breakfast.
Peter had been more than generous in giving her the whole day off. The fact that Damon would have to pick up a few of her cases satisfied her immensely. Even though she’d tried over the months to understand Damon’s strange personality, she just couldn’t warm up to him. When he spoke to anyone in the unit, barring Peter, he was either sarcastic or condescending, so Angie knew he’d be madder than hell over having to check out some fraud tips at Madera.Karma can be a bitch, Damon.A string of giggles erupted from her throat.
“Are you gonna let me in on what’s so funny?” Crow said.
Angie craned her neck and smiled. “Morning. It’s nothing, really.”
“It’s gotta be something.” Crow wrapped his arm around her and pulled her flush to him. “So are you gonna share?” he asked, his mouth barely touching her ear. He swept her hair to the side and gently sucked her earlobe between his teeth; then, he kissed a trail to her shoulder.
“That feels good,” she murmured, cocking her head to the side so he’d have better access.
“You feel good.”
Angie felt his erection rubbing against her, which quickly filled her with desire until that soreness popped up again.
“Fuckin’ you all night rocked.” Crow dug his fingers into her hips and pushed against her.
“It was the best.” Craning her neck, she kissed him on the chin.
“I love being inside you, woman,” he said thickly as one hand cupped her crotch.
“You were an incredible lover,” she said, moving his hand away. “I know I asked for it, but, uh … I’m a bit … sore.”
A loud laugh rumbled from his chest. “You definitely asked for it, baby.” He turned her around and pressed his mouth to hers.
“I know, and you certainly delivered,” she said after coming up for air.
“You’re so damn cute.” He tweaked her nose and smacked her behind. “It smells good in here. What’re you making?” He strolled over to the stove.
“You’re not mad?”
Picking up a strip of bacon, he glanced over. “About what?”
“The sex thing.”
“No way,” he replied between bites. “Besides, we can do other things.” He smirked.
Angie smacked him playfully with the dishtowel. “You love this, don’t you? It makes you feel like a stud, right?” She laughed.
“Don’t need to feel it ’cause I am a stud, baby.” Crow threw her a wink.
“You are,” she said, wrapping her arms around his waist. “I’ll never forget last night.”
