“He’s holding her at his house, and I need a distraction so some of my friends and I can get in there.”

“I’ve been to his place—the old Victorian mansion on Granite.”

“Do you think you can go over there and say that Manny sent you as a gift to him? I’ll have your back every step of the way. I just need you to occupy him until we get inside. I’ll make sure nothing happens to you.”

“Sure, I’ll do it.”

“Just kill some time, but I don’t want you to think you gotta do shit with him. We’ll be in before anything gets outta control.”

“I trust you, baby. I can wear my room service outfit—he’s got a thing for that.”

“You sure you want to do this?”

“Hell, yeah. It sounds exciting, and with you and your buddies watching out for me, what have I got to lose?”

“We’ll pay you for your missed hours at the club.”

“It’s on me. I’m just happy to finally be able to give back to you after all the times you’ve given to Abby and me.”

“Thanks, babe.”

Jenny crossed her arms over her breasts and shook her head. “I never thought I’d live to see the day that you fell in love. I have to say I wish it were with me.”

With a non-committal grunt, Cobra stretched out his legs, crossing them at the ankles.

“You love her, idiot.” Jenny tapped his knee and he narrowed his eyes. “You need to tell her. Women like to hear it—it’s real important to us.”

He dragged a hand down his face.Fuck, Jenny makes it all seem so damn simple. But maybe it was. Dakota’s last words to him on the phone were that she loved him—simple and honest.

“Yeah, well, I’ll deal with all that later. We gotta get going.” Cobra pushed up from the couch. “Go get dressed and we’ll meet you out back in five to go over the plans.”

“Sure thing, baby.”

He opened the door and Jenny scurried through it, then he ambled back into the main room to find his brothers.

I’m coming, sweetheart.
