“Not that kind of mad, no. I promise you’re safe. There’s nothing you could do—or I should say, that youwoulddo, to piss me off like that. It’s not who you are.”
He nods, leaning in a little bit. “I’ve never felt so safe in my life.”
“You are safe.” I brush my thumb across his cheek. “So safe.”
“And when you find Leon, that’s what you’re gonna do to him?”
I nod. “Something like that.”
Rue grins, sliding his hand up my thigh. “Hot.”
Colson chuckles.
Rue presses against my side, brushing his lips over my ear. “I want your cock in my mouth when we get back to your house.”
And just like that, my boner is back. “That can be arranged.”
CHAPTER 11
Rue
I’ve always knownI was different from the people I grew up around—weirder, attracted to the morbid, and tonight just proved it. Watching Carnage beat that man to oblivion probably should have bothered me, but if I’m being honest with myself, I have to admit it turned me on. I should be grossed out that Carnage has another person’s blood on his clothes and skin. Surely my germ phobia should be triggered, but so far, nothing. I’m still wrapped around him like a koala clinging to a tree.
The ride home is quiet, which gives me time to think about what happens once we’re alone in his bedroom again. If I play my cards right, he’s going to give me what I want and finally let me get this monkey off my back. By morning, I won’t be a virgin anymore. I’m so excited I can barely sit still.
When we pull up to the house, Carnage squeezes my knee and smiles at me. He looks like a Greek god, or maybe one of those renaissance statues I remember from art history class. His soft curls frame his face perfectly, and his eyes, the color of chestnuts, are so warm. They epitomize the sensuality pouring off the man. Even now, after seeing him lose his absolute shiton someone, he’s so calm that it makes me calm too. I definitely made the right choice reaching out to him that night at the club.
We say goodnight to the others before heading into his bedroom.
“I’m gonna shower,” he says. “Make yourself comfortable.”
“Can I…” I pause, then swallow my nerves. “Can I join you?”
“You want to shower with me?”
“Yes. I want to wash you.”
His gaze softens and he nods. “Come on, then.”
I hurry to catch up, kicking off my boots on the way. The bathroom is pretty spacious and everything is so clean. It’s not at all like the gross house Leon lived in. I barely wanted to shower there, afraid mold would jump off the walls and onto me, so I kept my showers quick.
This bathroom makes you want to take your time. There’s a built-in bench in the shower stall and I bet it’s nice to sit there and let the water and steam envelop you.
“Are you rich?” I unbutton my vest.
Carnage shrugs. “That’s a subjective term. We have enough. It helps that the house is paid for and we don’t really have any overhead expenses. Some of us have expensive hobbies, but I really don’t, so most of my paycheck goes into savings.”
“How are you paid? A yearly salary or, like, by the job?”
He smiles and pulls his t-shirt over his head. “A salary with bonuses. It’s very fair. We all get paid the same amount.”
“Neat.” I work on the very tight pants next, wiggling out of them.
When I look over at Carnage, he’s kicking his jeans off and pulling his briefs down with them. Then he’s naked, and what a sight he is. He’s all carved muscle, drawing me to touch him, but when my gaze moves to his torso, that delectable V making my mouth water, then lower to his cock, my breath catches.
Wow.
He’s not even fully hard yet, but wow. He’s a nice size. Maybe the perfect size. Thick but not intimidating, long but not too much. And he’s veiny. So veiny. I didn’t know dicks could look that good. My stomach is doing somersaults of desire. God, I want to touch him.
