“Stay here.” I squeezed his hand and pushed through the Employee’s Only door and into the back room-slash-office area where we had our PC set up for paperwork, but also where we kept backstock and some cleaning supplies.

My gaze swept over the room, seeking out Sky. I didn’t see him at first, which concerned me because there wasn’t anywhere he could go. There was no backdoor exit. I blocked the only escape route.

But then I found him, tucked inside of himself, huddled on the floor between the metal filing cabinet and the wall. He wept softly, so softly that my own icy heart melted a little.

Damn. “Sky?”

“Leave me alone…” he uttered, sounding more broken and defeated than I’d ever heard in his voice before.

My throat knotted. I sidled closer and knelt down beside him, resting a hand on Sky’s knee. He flinched away, his head snapping up, pinning me with wild, teary eyes.

“He replaced me,” was what he whispered. I frowned, confused, and Sky burst into tears, covering his mouth with one hand to try and muffle his own cries.

Fletcher must’ve slipped in behind us, because suddenly, he was there, crouching beside us.

“Aww, sweetheart,” he crooned. “It’s okay.”

“N-No it’s not!” Sky cried. “It’s never going to be okay again! He replaced me! H-He… He…” He choked on his words, shaking his head frantically.

Fletcher and I exchanged a glance. His brother…? Replaced him?

Fletcher rubbed his knee gently. “Do you need to go home? Take the rest of your shift off?”

Sky sniffled and shook his head. “No, I’ll… I’ll pull myself together. I just need a few minutes. I-I can still work.”

“Okay, if you’re sure,” Fletcher murmured, concern in his voice.

“Yeah, I-I don’t wanna be alone right now,” Sky admitted.

“Do you want me to sit with you for a little while?” Fletcher asked.

Sky’s bottom lip wobbled, tears filling his eyes once more. “Would you?”

Fletcher glanced up at me. I gave him a small nod. “I’ll cover your station.”

My mate smiled. “Thanks, baby. You’re the best.”

As sad as it was, seeing Sky so distraught over his twin calmed my uncertain heart. It made me realize that I was being foolish, thinking the other Omega was here to steal my mate.

Sky wasn’t in any shape to steal anyone’s mate—not if he was in love with his own brother.

“Special delivery. These are for you.”

I glanced up from the paperwork I was working on to see Adam standing behind me, a large bouquet of red roses in one hand and a heart-shaped box of chocolates in the other, and my heart melted.

Even after ten years, this man could still twist me up in knots. “Adam…” I bit my lip, but I couldn’t suppress the smile that stretched across my face from ear to ear.

“Happy Valentine’s Day, kitten,” Adam said, offering me the flowers.

I squealed softly and jumped out of the chair, bypassing the flowers to instead kiss my mate. “They’re beautiful,” I told him, but snatched the box of candy instead. I unwrapped the plastic and popped a chocolate-covered caramel into my mouth with a giggle. “Mmm. Want one?”

“Careful. You’ll ruin your dinner,” Adam singsonged.

My brows bounced up. “Ooh, you’re taking me to dinner, too? Fancy-fancy.”
