He called me an asshole, so I asked if you’d fucked his yet.

Wilder

Ohh. Nah, not yet. Storm and I are edging him. I made him watch as I fucked Storm’s face before bed, and wouldn’t let him touch himself. He’s kind of salty about it. I think he needs to wait until you get back so we can run a train on his ass. I can think of no better bonding experience, can you?

Fuck no, I don’t think I can. The thought of Marie mixed into our kinky fuckery makes me grin.

Me

A train it is.

Wilder

Fuck yes! That’s one way to be welcomed into the pack. We’re Ransom’s first.

My cheeks hurt from how much I’m smiling. I know he doesn’t mean Ransom’s first train, but instead the first men who have caught his eye. I’m both flattered and excited we’ll also be his last. We don’t share outside of our pack.

Putting my phone away, I let thoughts of a sex train fill my mind instead of my moral dilemma with Ryder, and I soon find myself drifting off.

Chapter Sixteen

Two days later

Marie

Ryder and Lore are leading me through the Black Hills National Forest on an off roading side quest. Apparently, I’m doing really well riding on both paved roads and gravel, but sometimes, neither of those are available. Ryder took my concerns about being able to ride away to safety if needed to seriously, so here we are.

I appreciate that he didn’t simply toss away my fears, but then Ryder has a very different lived experience. His eyes darkened as he spoke about knowing how to maneuver rougher typography. I don’t know how Hastings was taken, nor will I ask.

What matters is that he’s invested in teaching me how not to get ripped off my bike while riding. I found out that’s a very real possibility earlier today, and that’s fucking terrifying. Lore explained that it’s important I stay low and close to the bike if I’m being chased, and that I hold on tight.

Now, they’re simulating what that might look like. They’re not grabbing at me, but instead Ryder is dropping behind me to ride on my ass to try to get me to make a mistake I’ll need to correct for. I speed up a little more, careful of the wet leaves on the ground. It rained last night, and the forest is sparkling with water droplets.

It’s the perfect place to see if I can hack it, even though I’ve only been riding a motorcycle for three fucking days. Gritting my teeth, I struggle not to scream when one of them bumps my back tire.

“Hold it together, Little Queen!” Ryder yells above the roaring engines of the motorcycles.

I suppose we’re disrupting the calmness of the forest today, but I swear it’s for a good cause. I think keeping me alive and not kidnapped definitely should sit in that category, anyway.

I manage to ride through the woods without crashing, until Ryder and Lore finally yell for me to stop.

“Not bad, kid,” Ryder chuckles. “I think you deserve a cookie. Follow me.”

Rolling my eyes with my heart pounding, I turn my handle bars in the direction he’s leading that's off the path. It’s a little rougher with more bumps, but I manage pretty well. I can hear Lore’s bike bringing up the rear, and the slower ride allows my blood pressure to lower and my harsh breathing to subside.

The trail ends at a steep drop with tall, black mountains towering in an arc around me. There’s also a huge body of water that reminds me of glass that looks green in some places and blue in others. The sun makes everything glow as if it’s highlighting the cliff’s main character energy, and my jaw drops.

“This is a damn good cookie,” I rasp when I can finally talk.

“It’s nothing to sneer at,” Ryder chuckles. “You accomplished more than most of my students do in two weeks. You should be really fucking proud of yourself.”

I practically glow with pride, but also know that his students don’t get unfettered access to him. Ryder has spent hours and hours helping me, only breaking for food. He hasn’t done much at work, and when I mentioned that I felt bad, he shrugged and said that’s why he had staff.

Ryder also said he was a big boy and could use his words, thank you very fucking much. After that, I stopped feeling bad, because he’s absolutely right.

I gaze in awe at the beautiful scenery around me, barely noticing as Ryder leaves. Lore gets off his bike and walks over to me, wrapping his arms around me as he bends over so he can hold me.

I pull off my helmet so he can bury his nose in my throat, sighing as his scent surrounds me.
