Her fingers moved from his groin once they were joined to his backside as she pressed. He gave a grunt edged by agroan when she dug her nails after they moved upward onto his shoulders.

He broke the kiss, huffing the words when he carefully eased them toward a rhythm. “Pain for pain, Nella.” She whimpered again. Narrow, she was so very narrow. He gave a fresh groan after a new thrust. “Pleasure shall call upon us next.” Pleasure heralded him already like sun to a thousand-year night.

The grip by her nails faded in haste as he steadily increased their rhythm while she gasped her reply. “Forgive me, Callum, the pain was profound but the reward…” Her words trailed off by a moan. “The reward,oh.”

Aye.The drapes on the canopy began swaying, same as the tides on a tempest ocean, as he rode harder at her urging.

“Nella,” he huffed, “are you near?”

She darted her eyes at where they were joined while saying, puzzled, “Callum, we are already near.” A chuckle turned groan from him at her response before she stumbled over her words when the strange wave from cresting must have begun washing over her. “Callum… I… I do know what you refer… Oh! Aye, Callum!”

The wave began crashing over him as heavy as her palms onto his shoulders. Frantically panting, she met his gaze.

He thrust twice more. “Nella!” Her name part growl with a lacing in groan echoed as his seed surged.

Callum’s lashes burst open. Aye, he found her flushed beneath him. Their raging breaths stole the chamber for a heavy stretch. The scent by their mating inflicting his senses, he remained completely still, his loins against hers. Divinity! She was.He needed a moment more in the warmth and loved and passion-filled place only she offered.

His brow on hers, the wide brown gaze bore into his soul. “Nella, you are a rose in petaled perfection.” That was a sad try at a sonnet for such a euphoric moment.“I… I should take leave of you.” His eyes darted to where they were joined. “Alas, I find a need to remain a moment more – please.”

She adjusted her backside on the sheet, and he groaned.Divine!

“A rose you may think me, my Callum.” She gave a tiny, naughty grin while her nails pressed once onto his shoulder blades again. “A few thorns I carry as well.”

He grabbed one of her hands then pressed a kiss onto her palm. “I love the thorns.” He grinned at her. “Every last one.” After he kissed each nail she bore, he slowly withdrew. Settling himself on his back, he took her with him. While nestling together she draped over his torso as he met her gaze.

His brow furrowed. “The pain, it did pass?” At the question raised by his concern, she leaned up, tracing her lips over his collarbone.

“Aye,” she replied, then looked over at the table. “Wait here a breath.” His eyes devoured the sight as she leaned up then rustled off the bed. The curve of her backside vanished too soon as she quickly sought his tunic off the floor. His smile wavered. She was still trying to hide a wee bit. Time. Give it time.A fresh inward grin arrived. He would show her what a bonny she was over and over and over again.

“What is it you seek, Nella?” he wondered while she went to fetch something off the table. A clean linen along with a wine bottle she held while turning back at him. She strode toward him, clad in his tunic, and the hem reached her knees with the sleeves bunched up as his garment drowned her, causing a quickening in his blood once again. She is completely adorable.

“Would you care to halt a moment, Nella?”

Her steps paused while her brows raised. The firelight behind her played with the silhouette in her lithe shape shown, and her tresses tumbled in a mess about her shoulders by his efforts. Aye, flawless, and his. Any who thought different? Well, his eyes darted at the bow across the chamber. Those arrows resting against the granite wall would be called upon.

His eyes re-met hers. She was looking him over too. Leaning up on an elbow which naturally flexed his arm, he cocked a brow. “Care for all laid before you, my lady?” he asked, and she blushed. Was it a good sign?

“Aye.”It was, thank all.She winked then quipped in naughty fashion, “Also when laid upon me.”Divine!A chuckle from him echoed their chamber. “Forthwith, however, turn upon your front, my knight. My thorn’s scratches: I shall not have them turn into taint.”

He rolled onto his front, and the linen began caressing over his flesh with the wine cold at first but the heat from her touch and between them carried quickly. In care she cleaned all his torn flesh.Aye, aye, aye,he would have to tell her to scratch him each time if it meant this favored tender touch after. He almost turned when she’d completed the task with setting the bottle on the table beside the bed, but his breath caught after her lips grazed over his shoulders’ tops. Her hair whispered across his back as her words did his ear. “Callum?”

“Aye?” He was growing hard again.

“’Twas worth the wait, all this time, for us.”

“Aye.” He turned about, captured her in his arms, then spun her onto her back, while placing himself between her thighs. His fingers raised the tunic’s hem while he sought her maidenhood again. “Nella, once more?”

“Only once more, my knight?” she asked innocently with a wicked grin while her hand found his fresh want for her between them.

He gave a growl then raised the hem – higher.

Chapter 17

A passionate fire unlike any other!Nella stared at the flames dying in the hearth – nope, not that fire. That one was so different than what was taking place here and now between her and… aye, her lover. The flames between her and the one resting beneath her were bright and solid and blazing after all the years in an ember.Bring it!

Her leg was draped over his thigh, the bristle from his hairs rubbing her tender flesh after their thorough mating. All the time she had let slip by them at her rash choice. She should have sought him out; well, her lips grazed his torso in a soft kiss, the salt at their efforts in seeking one another fresh on his flesh. Never again!
