But all I can do is focus on the place where we’re joined.

The feel of his hard cock dragging out of me. I want to feel him come, I don’t want to miss it, but I’m also so close to coming myself, I can barely think about anything else.

When my orgasm finally hits, it rolls through me slowly, dragging responses out of me I didn’t know I could make. The sounds I make sit between a whine and a cry. And my orgasm doesn’t crash and burn; it rolls through me unendingly.

Long and steady. Like it isn’t enough, and yet, oh my God how can it last like this.

I breathe through it.

“Fuck, I can feel it.” Knox grunts, his strokes getting faster. “Work the cum out of me, sweetheart.”

He slides his hands beneath my ass, squeezing hard, shifting the angle.

“Ah, fuck,” he mutters. “Gonna come, Maren. Ah, shit.”

And then, his body bucks against mine once as he thrusts himself deep. His head buries in the pillow next to mine. “You feel that?” His words are muffled.

And I could almost cry with the completeness I feel. This man loves me and wants what I do. I feel every pulse.

And when he’s finished, shudders are interspersed between thrusts, until they ease.

I cling to him through it, slower and softer until our bodies stop trembling.

When he finally stills, he pushes onto his elbows and places his forehead to mine.

Our breaths slow but meet the same rhythm.

“You okay?” he asks.

A small smile finds my lips. “Yeah.”

“Think I’m gonna like makeup sex,” he says finally, and I laugh.

“We didn’t really argue.” I thread my fingers into his hair. “You’re so good-looking, it’s almost annoying.”

He grins. “We did argue, but it was mainly because I overreacted to seeing him with his hands on you. And because he didn’t stick around for me to get mad at, I directed it at you. I’ll mange that better in the future.”

He moves a fraction and I’m blissfully aware that he’s still inside me. Softening, a little, but still filling me.

“You’re becoming the best part of my day, Knox.”

“Sweet talker.”

I smile and shake my head. “I mean it. I was lonely until I met you. It sometimes scares me how much you’ve come to mean to me so quickly.”

“I’ll stop him. Alvarez. The man behind all this. Whatever he thinks he’s doing, whatever he wants. I’ll find out what it is and shut him down. No one threatens the people I care about. It’s hard to admit he caught us so dominantly on the back foot. But it won’t happen again.”

I reach up and push a lock of hair back off his forehead, but it doesn’t stay where I put it and drops straight back down onto his face again. “I’m glad to hear it, but I think we need a boundary.”

His brow furrows slightly. “What’s that?”

“This space. Your bedroom?—”

“Ourbedroom.”

I brush a kiss against the corner of his mouth. “Fine. No one else should ever come intoourbedroom with us. No club business. No violence. No other people. This is the one place in our lives that stays untouched by anything outside.”

“Yeah,” he says, kissing me tenderly. “I can give you that.” He cups my cheeks. “I like this.”
