“I’m not sure. I appreciate what you guys do for me here, but I don’t know them,” he says nervously.

“Would you feel better if we sent someone with you?”

He hesitates, then nods.

“Let me talk with Savage. I’m sure we can spare someone for a few days. It will be good for you too. You’ll have more money in your pocket,” I remind him.

“I know. I just worry what consequences will come from it,” he mutters.

I don’t blame him. The cops are more likely to look into him for being associated with us. It’s why we have kept his business legitimate. There is nothing to find here.

My phone pings.

Fang: You coming by?

Me: On my way.

“I’ve got to get going, but I’ll be in touch. Don’t worry too much. This is a good thing for all of us.”

He nods as I leave his office. I don’t acknowledge anyone else as I head to my bike. The ride to Boudoir doesn’t take long. I walk through the door and head right to where I know Fang will be.

“I swear you live in this booth.”

He chuckles. “Feels that way these days. This club is taking more and more of my time.”

“It helps that your girl is here too, huh?” I nod toward Cami, who is helping one of the dancers with her routine.

“It doesn’t hurt, that’s for sure. So here are the books.” He pushes them over my way.

He doesn’t have to show them to me. The club trusts Fang. Hell, I trust him with my life. Still, he likes having a second set of eyes on them. Well, other than Cami’s.

“I’ll take a look at them tonight and get them back to you tomorrow. Everything else going good here?” I ask.

He nods. “Had to fire two girls. Caught them shooting up in the bathroom. Offered rehab, but both refused, so out on the streets they go.”

I hate the defeat in his tone. He doesn’t like not being able to help them.

“You can’t help someone who doesn’t want to help themselves. You’ve taken this place and made it a safe haven for girls who need to work jobs like this without having the same risks. You can’t save them all. Besides, you saved the most important one.”

We both look to Cami, who happens to glance over. When she sees me, she smiles and heads our way. When she reaches the table, she easily slides into Fang’s lap, making me jealous that he has that.

Maybe one day I can too.

“Hey, Loyal. How’s it going with your late-night booty call?” Cami asks.

I narrow my eyes at her. “You just want to gossip so you can share with Bailey.”

“Guilty as charged. You keep everything so secretive that we take what we can.” She shrugs.

I consider it a moment before I decide to give her what she wants.

“She’s officially my girlfriend,” I tell her.

“What? Since when? Did you ask her?” Cami bounces on Fang’s lap.

“Little dancer, you need to stop moving like that, otherwise, Loyal here is going to have to leave,” Fang growls at her.

She laughs. “He’s not leaving until I know everything. Spill.”
