I dapped Stanley up, while my eyes remained trained on Big Baby. It was a bunch of hard heads outside, and sometimes when niggas got that liquor mixed with other drugs in their systems, they’d get out of line, regardless of who you was.

I eventually stepped around the car to stand beside her. Checking her out, I saw that she was comfortable as fuck, while we were technically in the trenches. She didn’t seem the least bit fazed by the environment. Meanwhile, Paisley would never. Even with her daddy being from the hood, Paisley wouldn’t be caught dead in certain places. And that was why whenever I just wanted to swing by the hood and kick it, I’d leave her ass at home.

Grabbing her hand, I guided her through the outside crowd to get to the entrance.

Once we stepped inside, she glanced around, she nodded. “Okay, this is nice. He’s definitely gonna bring in the crowds with this.”

I nodded in agreement, noticing the new details, like new furniture, a different bar set-up, TVs, and booths, just before my uncle Jaymo approached us.

“What’s up, nigga?” He asked, as we embraced.

“Nothing too much,” I responded, after we released one another. “This is Jaylah. Jaylah, this is my uncle Jaymo.”

Uncle Jaymo half hugged her, while she smiled. “Nice to meet you.”

“Nice to meet you too, baby girl.” He grinned. “Nephew, you know what it is. Tell Sophie behind that bar to make whatever for y’all. And I’ma get Kay in the kitchen to whip up your usual. For two. And Chris will bring y’all some hookah.” He winked.

“Bet.” I nodded, before ushering Big Baby to the patio, where we grabbed a table.

Taking in the scenery, I peeped the new string lights illuminating the patio area, elevating the vibes, for sure.

Within ten minutes, we already had drinks and hookahs in front of us. We wasted no time, taking shots to the head. Meanwhile, I was realizing that Big Baby had a old soul, as she sang along to classic R&B.

“Let me tell you how much I love you. Let me tell you that I really need you. Baby, baby, baby, I will make it alright. No one but you, baby, can make me feel. The way you make me, makeme, make me feel!” She shamelessly sang Keith Sweat’sMake It Last Foreverat the top of her lungs, while locking eyes with me.

I chuckled at her performance, before leaning in to speak in her ear. “What you know ‘bout this?”

She smiled. “Plenty. My mama’s been listening to this since she was a baby, and passed it down to us.”

I nodded. “Me too.”

“Okay, now, this isreallymy mama and daddy’s song, right here. I might have to get married to it or something,” she giggled.

“You may be young but you' re ready. Ready to learn. You're not a little girl, you' re a woman. Take my hand. Let me tell you, baby…”

She was singing with her eyes closed, looking fucking angelic, making me wanna ask her, if she wanted to get married, right then.

The deejay transitioned toHe’s Mineand Big Baby lost it.

“He might be doing you, but he’s thinking about me. So lady, think about another lover. Go find another brother…”

She hopped out of her seat, swayed her hips to the beat, while singing into her hookah stick like it was a microphone. “You ask why, cause he’s mine. Tell you something that just aint cool. Never fall in love with a man who don’t love you.”

There were other women on the patio who joined in on the singing. Granted, a lot of those women looked to be my mama’s age, but they were vibing along with Big Baby.

I found myself studying her, while those dazzling dimples anchored into her cheeks. She was so fucking sexy and confident, and the bow of her legs was doing something to me.

The deejay did his big one when he started playing Trina.

“I got an ass so big like the sun…”

As soon as that beat dropped, Big Baby posted up in front of me, propped a foot on the arm of my chair, and bent over in my face, wobbling that ass.

Her moves were fluid, while she moved to the beat. The ladies were cheering her on, as she touched the floor, while vibrating those cheeks.

“Look back at me. Look back at me…”

Playfully, she slammed her ass against my head, causing me to roar with laughter.
